I've always wondered why the popular workouts always have squatting everyday?

I know legs are the biggest muscles in the body and squats stimulate the entire body for growth, but shouldn't they need rest like the other muscles?

I'm just curious.
I do love squatting everyday though! ATG!

It's the best way to get strong fast. You can squat heavy (in terms of % of 1RM) 3 times a week if you're a beginner. Beginners can recover from heavy training very quickly due to several factors.

Later on, when you switch to intermediate/advanced programming, you can still squat 3+ times a week, alternating between different weights/repetition patterns.

Right now my program looks like this (I do other stuff too but I'm too lazy to type the whole thing out):

Monday:

Squat 5x5

Wednesday:

Front squat 3x3

Friday:

Squat 3RM

This is a protocol I learned from Mark Rippetoe's book "Practical Programming for Strength Training" which I highly recommend if you're interested in this subject.

haha you obviously don't know about supersquats. Squats are best for the biggest growth in my opinion. There is a time and place for squatting everytime depending on goals. Kerpal gives a good example why.

don't forget to eat like a pig. it's not the training that makes you grow, it's your food.
