It does not have to be hospital vs economy.. we’ve had five months to convert arenas, building, convention centers into hospitals in anticipation of a second surge, that was literally the purpose of the 4 month shutdown.. what they chose to do with that time I don’t know.

Correct. They were busy calling it a “hoax.” The US has not expanded the hospital system capacity nor established a contract tracing system. Round two of lockdowns is inevitable. We’ll figure this out eventually.

I think businesses should remain open if they want (liberty, who'd have thought?), but everyone should be encouraged to take precautions. Be creative, like the six foot spacing on the floors, plastic barriers at the cashier, wear a mask, wash your hands, etc.

I agree in theory, but what we are not remembering here is governments did Not know krap about this virus when it broke out. Add to that the UK ‘expert’ with sh|t software that predicted 2 million US deaths and we had a radical initial government response…

Recommendations do not work. This is a macro issue. If it’s not mandated by law with enforceable fines, people will opt out. That’s self defeating when combating a public health crisis.

The local cops in my area just sued the health department and forced them to turn over the names and addresses of all covid positive patients. They're scared of not knowing who is positive so they can protect themselves by avoiding those people. And this is in a small town environment where everyone gossips, so confidentiality is an illusion.

It never was never worth shutting down the economy over, as others have said, the people that died from it were already terminally ill and already on death's door.
