hey guys, recently turned 25 and have been smoking for probably close to ten years, looking to ease into this as I'm recently really staring to feel the effects of smoking, was over a pack a day and I'm slowly cutting it down to about 14 cigs a day, looking for suggestions from guys that have weened off smoking and started working out, maybe a work out vs smoking plan to ease into it as I eventually completely quit. Have a gym here in town but have never been, I'm 6'3 and about 270lbs. I have a physically demanding Job,on my feet all day and forearms of steel. So any tips would be great thanks!

Buy the most disgusting tobacco product you can find...I suggest menthol mini cigars...and make yourself smoke those to get your nicotine buzz. Over time, your brain will start to associate the drug with an unpleasant experience, which keeps you from craving it.

Tell yourself not to be a p*ssy.
Go to your nearest hospital and sit in the waiting room at the lung disease department for an hour or so to watch what comes in, you will see people as young as 40 years old coming in with oxygen tanks or bald from chemotherapy. That'll give you the motivation to quit.

Im more so looking for advice towards a work out plan to start out and transition to from smoking,I plan to continue to reduce my smoking by 2 cigs less a day per week. When I was younger I would do 250 sissors and 100 push ups, should I just go the the gym and start light since I'll most likely feel ****ty from quitting, never been to a gym before and I think the local one is monthly membership of like 20 bucks , would like to get my core and abliques into shape.

There is no such thing as "getting in shape while smoking". Stop trying to kid yourself. If you are serious about it you'll quit.

Might as well just say I want to get in shape while eating like crap everyday too...You either are serious about it or you aren't.

If you want to keep smoking, at any level, you clearly aren't.

Try nicotine gum or some other substitute that will give your lungs a break. I do recommend scaling back. Keep a journal of your progress. Maybe cut it to 13 one day, 12 the next. The key is really WANTING to be a non smoker. I quite 11 years ago, have not looked back. I'm not that guy any more.
Yea I'm wanting to work out to help add something to keep me busy,I was at like a pack and a half almost a day, down to 12 a day now and reducing it by 2 each week, it's starting to get difficult, biggest enemy is boredom and habit.

Try vaping, that stuff is much less harmful for your respiratory system, but of course, best is quitting. It's not as satisfying, but at least it kills the desire to smoke a cigarette.
I quit smoking after 8 years after a week in hospital. I couldn't smoke for first days, then I just had no urge to. Used e-cig a bit, but that did not deliver and I dropped that too.
Run uphill 30 minutes 5 times a day. Might get you to stop smoking inmediately.
That's a good advice too.
Good luck

Down to 11 a day from a pack-pack and a half a day, been smoking for probably 9 years. Its starting to get difficult but I can do this, the worst is late at night when I get hankering for a few right before bed, my best plan so far is just going to bed earlier so I can't smoke, was thinking about some kind of aid like chantix or something but hear it can mess with you.
