I have this wierd problem with my sleep patterns. Everyday when I come home from school to about 7 I am exausted. I usually pass out and sleep for at least a few hours everyday after school. Since I sleep during the day. I am not tired at night.

The obvious solution is to stay up and go to bed early, but when I do that, at about 8 I am wide awake until about 12. I want more sleep but I can not fall asleep between 8-12, but will sleep forever between 230-7. Anybody know what the hell is wrong with me?

Could be your diet and lifestyle....

You should get between 8-7 hours a sleep every night.

read a book in bed, you eventually going to doze off.

Don't eat big meals when you get home and avoid heavy carbs foods such as bread and potato's.

Hopefully you don't wack off too much.

try find time to excersize in the gym, it will give you more energy throughout the day, and you will sleep like a log at night.

You should also see a Doctor, you could be lacking some vitamins.

If you are at school during the afternoon - see if you can find a place for half an hour and sleep. Even a short nap will energize you throughout the day.

You can use melatonin to help 'reset' your bioclock. I use it to combat jetlag and definately helps.

There is also an amino acid that can be used to induce sleep, and many people swear by lavender oil on the pillow.

A good shag usually send me straight off though. :D

Avoid naps at all costs.

Thats funny because I was going to say wack off just before you want to go to bed. It always works for me when I cant sleep. I would advise you not to take long naps during the day.

Here's another angle on it.

How much are you enjoying school at the moment? Are you having some troubles or maybe find it boring?

It's funny how we get the energy for something we really enjoy, then sort of shut down with things that don't interest us.

If you have a level of anxiety about tomorrow rather than a feeling of being 'on track', various hormones your thoughts trigger will keep you awake.

This may not be valid for you, but worth mensioning.

At 17 years of age melatonin is absolutly useless.

Take deep breaths of lavender oil and you WILL feel sleepy. If you want faster results though, try ammonia.

In highschool I had to read a 500 page book called "The discovery of new Attica", I guarantee, this book will knock you the fvck out like 3 tabs of rohypnol.

If you can't get hold of that book, go see your doctor, say you're depressed and ask him to prescribe you "remeron", that stuff works better then any sleeping pill... The first time I took it knocked me out cold for 14hrs..

no..DO NOT TAKE remeron...or any sleeping pill or anti-depressent....all they will do is get you hooked. You need to naturally re-adjust your sleep pattern. there are lotsa good books on the subject at the local bookstores.
