Master Don Juan
If you're a naturally thin framed man like myself than you've probably dealt with the physical barriers of being unable to lift much weight. I'm half indian and it sucks having thin wrists and ankles cus they're always getting sprained and twisted and if you add lankiness onto that than you know how frustrating getting big can be.
I've recently uncovered a solution to this problem that has helped me deal with this affliction so I no longer feel uncomfortable wearing shorts or short sleeves. Well.....I basically figured it out when I worked for a moving company last summer but for those who don't pick up couches, entertainment centers, and dressers on a regular basis we need a workout regiment to add thickness to our wrists and ankles. Calf raises work my calfs but my ankles still remain thin and wrist curls work my forearms more than my wrists. Some lifters will tell you to squeeze tightly when you lift (which IS important) but if you don't have the wrist strength to begin with you're just be exerting less energy on the muscle group ie. chest than you'll be able to handle. Here's my workout. Its quite simple
Have you ever watched the Strongman competitions where they carry 2 giant weights and walk as far as they can back and forth for as many feet as possible. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. Grab 2 relatively heavy weights (i'm 5'11 155lbs and use 50lb dumbells to 70lb) and walk a straight line as far as you can til you drop. I do this in my backyard cus it feels weird at the gym. Keep trying to beat your previous distance each time and if you can do it on stairs even better. After 2 weeks of doing this every other day I feel like a million bucks and I lift much more when I go to the gym. My lifting endurance has increased aswell as my grip and balance. For all the skinny wristed/ankle people out there......there is hope and you can wear those shorts and tank tops wherever you go.
