While meeting girls is always fun, it's not always an easy thing to do. One of the most important (and difficult) things about first meeting a girl is gauging her interest level. I've found a neat little way to do this. If you're an older guy chattin' with a younger girl, let the conversation progress for a bit. Then just say something to the effect of "Too bad I'm not a few years younger." The response from the girl will pretty much tell you up front what her interest level is. If she's like "...oh what's age? It's no big deal....I like older guys...blah blah blah." That's a fairly good sign that she has some interest in you. Also, you can rearrange the sentence to create a mild neg-hit situation. Just say "Too bad you're a not a little bit older," thus putting her below YOUR standards. Again, this will create a response from her, whether it be positive or negative, at least you'll learn up front and not waste your time.

Would be nice except that if makes your intentions too obvious IMO. She knows how high YOUR interest level is after you say that so your challenge is gone.

I think it would depend on how you say "Too bad you're not a little older."

If you say it the right way it can come of like you 'had' interest in her but it's all out the window now that you know her age, giving her a feeling of being written off. I like it...

You could also give it a "It's obvious you're into me so it's too bad for you you're not a few years older" connotation.

Good tip.
