Signature File Rules

I've noticed that there are a number of people including signature files that are just too long and detract from the value of the forum. So here are the new sig rules

1) No more than 10 lines at the absolute max. And this includes blank lines.

2) Your sig can never be longer than your post. If you have a 8-line sig then your post must be at least 8 lines before you can include it. Do not reply "I agree" and include a 10-line sig file. Also, do not "pad" your post so that you can include your sig.

If necessary, please edit your sigs asap.

From this point on, if your sig violates one of these rules, your post will be deleted and you'll receive a message from one of our friendly mods.


By the way, if you are one of those members who do not like sigs at all, then you can turn them off in your User CP. Simply check "no" where it says "Show user's signatures in their posts?" and *poof* all sigs are gone.

I also highly recommend that everyone go to their User CP and check "yes" where it says "Pop up a box when you receive a Private Message?" Otherwise, you could potentially miss an important message from one of our mods and wind up getting yourself booted from the forum.

I propose the following signature rules:

Text Rules:

• Maximum of 3 lines of text
• Maximum of 1 line of URLs
• No profanity
• No overusage of UPPERCASE
• No overusage of MiXeD CaSe
• No overusage of ASCII text
• No overusage of 31337 5p34k

If images are allowed in the future:

• Maximum height of 64 pixels
• Maximum width of 400 pixels

The ideal image signature would be:

• not higher than 64 pixels
• not wider than 400 pixels
• not both 64 pixels high and 400 wide
• small in bytesize
<10KB is perfect
<20Kb is acceptable
<30 KB is okay for static sigs
<40KB is the maximum.
• should not clash with the forum color scheme
• should use transparency
• should blend nicely with the forum color scheme
• should be saved in GIF format
• have a tagline above or below their graphical signature
• have their signature linked to the user's web site, etc.

I don’t know what to say, really. Three minutes ‘till the biggest battle of our professional lives. It all comes down to today. One half a second to slow to fast and you don’t quite ketch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in every break in the game, every minute, every second. Haha hey I kind of like Anthony's signature...my sig is technically too long by the rules but I think it is fine too.
