I don't think so. Just another day, and plus it marks that you're getting older and closer to death. What's all the celebration about?

edit: It's not my birthday by the way. It was my classmate's birthday the other day, and he was ecstatic. I mean, when you're under 21, it is exciting because you want to get closer to the drinking age. But then again, even then you're drinking before you turn 21, so it's mostly about being able to get into clubs/bars. But after 21, it all goes downhill. Am I right or am I right?

I think the happiness is just because people are delusional and want another excuse to just get drunk. Oh "it's okay to get drunk and act like an idiot BECAUSE it's the guy's (or girl's) birthday." Not that I care, but sooner or later they will snap out of that delusional reality and realize they have accomplished nothing at age ____. And then it will hit them that getting older is really not cool.

Clearly your a pessemist, birthday is a celebration of life and a point where you reflect on yourself and how you GREW UP both physically and mentally... You should be happy that other people actually give a damn about your birthday.

i'm happy in the sense than someone is taking me out to eat... but other than that it's not that bigga deal. everyone dies eventually. that's why you should live when you are here

By BDAY is this fathers day... I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm not mad or anything.. it's just another day

I'm always happy when I drink. Mark a mile stone by being happy beyond all resonable recognition.

first of all, no one gives a damn about your birthday. my mom told me "i hate your birthday, because every time I tell you happy birthday, I remember I"m getting older"

really.. who gives a fvck when it's all said and done that you were born on this day 31 years ago?

I celebrate life everyday. I celebrate living. To me my B day really IS just another day.

Anniversaries are a women's thing. If it was just men on earth I don't think the concept would have caught on. But my birthday is near christmas so I have issues.

Well. The obvious answer is:

HELL YES.

People give you things, take you places, and think about you freaquently on this day. What's not to be happy about?

Oh, and all that "reflecting on how you've grown as a person", crap.

I expect traffic to stop on my birthday :) (which is July 30, I'm a medium guys :D.) But seriously, why so negative? I can honestly say I enjoy my birthday, and I don't get drunk on my birthday either. I think it is pretty lame to use it as another excuse to drink, we have enough of those days peppered throughout the calendar.

But the fun in a birthday is getting older, and maturing, through experience and learning. You don't mature just because you did another lap around the Sun, like some people believe :). I guess for some aging is a dichotomy, wishing to get older until a certain age (usually 21) then lamenting the process once they pass that point.

My last birthday I got taken out to drink, blacked out, chatted it up with some hot girl (according to my friends), scared this hot girl away with hate speech (according to my friends), somehow drove home, got into a fight with my now ex-roommates boyfriend, passed out, and woke up in a puddle of what I presume to be my own vomit.

Pretty mellow birthday, overall.

You should always be happy! If you are healthy, then you have no reason not to be happy!
