That's "no-fault" divorce. Every state has it now. There is no punishment at all for infidelity; the split is still 50/50 of all wealth accumulated during the marriage.

The values of this nation sure have degraded in many ways over the years. Maybe there's too much entitlement nowadays. I think Americans sometimes take equality and "fairness" to an extreme, or something. It's also true that money is power and life in a capitalist society, thus many people try and take advantage of this opportunity. A divorce settlement like this is definitely not win-win. I don't see how she is entitled to so much of Hulk's assets, especially in his company. I don't know a single thing about his company, but theoretically we're supposed to be a land of opportunity where you have the freedom to start your own business and reap the profits of the seeds you sow. But, I'm assuming his wife did not create most of Hulk's companies, unless she was the brains behind the operation and he was only a "brand" for the company. Whatever anyone thinks, 50/50 may be bullshvt, but it's fair in terms of the damage that could be done if either person had less.

Yes bible belt the whole notion of a 'no fault' divorce is odd to me.

I can't think of a business contract where one party can just choose to break the contract randomly without cause...AND THEN GAIN OVER HALF THE EARNINGS IN DOING SO!!!! why even make an effort to run a business if that were possible?

I mean if that were the case business partners would be breaking partnerships left and right...hmmm..sounds like our current divorce rate.

And at the end of the day..marriage is a contract....the no fault goes a long way to explain why women in the main are all about the wedding and less about the marriage. WOMEN GAIN MORE $$ BY NOT PUTTING IN THE EFFORT...of course luckily women don't think that way

Some years ago I was in "The lone Fathers support group"...the stories there would make you weep....One Guy of my acquaintence had denied himself much by keeping a Wife at home with four Kids,she ran off with a bloke who came to clean the Carpet....They had four Kids...she got 70% plus about that much of his weekly wage...The poor bloke had to get a second job just to survive,it will be ten years before he can have an even reasonable life style....Sure marriage can be a great institution but be warned that you only have a fifty-fifty chance of its surviving...The penalties that the benificant state impose are Humungeous.

She wanted half his future income so he made this "deal" to get her off his back because his potential future earnings potential is huge. He was likely advised by his people that this was better for him in the long run, not that it should have been that way in the first place. I believe he didn't have a prenup in place, which was the source of a lot of his troubles in this matter.

The 50/50 thing depends on the state. Maryland doesn't have that, but the judge can split assets any way he sees fit, so it's actually possible to come out even worse than that so YMMV.

Fully agree. This is why so many guys are jumping on the MRA/MGTOW bandwagon. Don't be surprised though when in a decade or so the laws change because it's women that start being affected more so than men as women become the primary breadwinners in relationships. Yes I think things may change as women become primary breadwinners...but I don't know.

Most high income women I know are EXTREMELY SHREWD...They don't pay for sh!t and they demand that the men they are with be financially on their level or greater...its a standard no rich man would have for any woman because well....we just need them to be hot with a tight azz.

Sure as they age the wealthy chicks have to look at the poorer handyman to get with them and their baggage, but by in large chicks who earn bank keep a lock on their money...frankly rich men would be wise to mimic them.

So I just had a look on Hulk Hogan's Wikipedia page, and it turns out he got married to another woman last December!!
