Self-Proclaimed PUAs are LAME!!!

I've been trying to read up on the whole 'pua' thing for awhile. Everything said is pretty much **** I learned by the time I was 20. All these 'pick up artists' look and talk like a bunch of phaggots.

Anyone who uses terms like 'afc' and 'kino' to me just sounds corny. Am I the only one who feels this way?

A real 'pua' are not these guys who give seminars and ****. It's guys who know how to get girls and are successful because they just have a way with women. They know what women want, they have something(s) that women want, and they aren't going to beat around the bush.

I don't come to this site to be a pick up artist, I don't even attempt pick up women. This site helps me to improve myself and gives me a solid foundation to deal with women I encounter in life.

Lol half these terms are misconstrued by half the people who use them anyways.

I don't like the terms alpha/beta. Using these means you are attempting to take something very complicated and reduce it to a term that has a very simple and limited connotation. They are not appropriate terms at all. But whatever... I live with it.

The whole "seduction community" was pretty much started by computer geeks, nerds, and social outcasts who severely struggled with women. These were the D & D guys who were bullied back in high school. So a lot of terms are nerdy, as them were originated by nerds.

I remember when Neil Strauss' book The Game came out, which took "The Community" mainstream and had grown men running around "pea-****ing," and believing that they could get any woman if they just use the right routine. However, most of the guys that I met while in The Community were socially maladjusted individuals with deep-seeded problems, not realizing that The Game was grossly exaggerated, and that most PUA gurus where simply clever salesmen making a profit from male insecurity....

Truth is, while some of the PUA stuff can certainly help, it's best to take it with a grain of salt (as you would any advice, really). No piece of advice, no routine, no "system" or "method" can make a guy an irresistible Casanova; it's the equivalent of the get-rich-quick schemes you occasionally encounter. However, you can definitely improve yourself and your relationships with women if you work hard at it and know what you want.

I agree that most of the PUA tips you see are things you really should have learned in high school. Have a few relationships with a few girls and you should learn most of it. I don't understand how guys come here and talk about it being such an eye opening, life changing, revelatory experience.

Maybe kids these days are being raised as such sissies that they've never heard of masculinity before, I don't know.

Then there are sites like RSD which have a lot of good information but it's aimed mostly at clubs. I got tired of the club/bar scene in my 20s, it seemed like such a waste of life. It's fun while you're into it, I guess.

they didn't set out to attract OTHER MEN

mainly it shows you that what women respond to and what most men think they SHOULD respond to aren't usually close to the same thing

The ironic thing is that PUAs tell their students that they are living their life to please women because of social conditioning. Then they proceed to reinvent their personalities so that they live their life to please women. That's the supposed intention, anyway.

I agree people can overdo the terminology.

After reading my original post it could be misconstrued as being ****y. I was just saying that a lot of what they try to 'teach you' is simple stuff. There is some useful information that I have implemented when going out but I have used very little of what I've heard. I'm all about learning new things but I was just stating that imo PUAs hardly teach anything that isn't basic and the terms they use sound ridiculous and corny to me. And I would never use terms like 'afc' and 'kino' and do not know what most of them mean nor do I care to find out. But to each his own. Being on this board for awhile now I have seen a lot of members using those terms. Was just curious if others felt the way I did.

I came to realise a long time ago that PUAs are geeks who learn from other geeks and who apply geek logic and science to attracting women.

Most of them are just following stuff they've read in books and make a very convincing argument for what they preach, but you only have to look at them to realise they have no self-awareness or social skills.

I'm sure a lot of them get phone numbers, though I doubt many of them get laid or get as many dates as they like us to believe...especially not the less wealthy among them.

I started out on the PUA path, but like others here, I then turned onto the path of self-improvement and things just started clicking for me.

The PUA stuff actually helped me out a lot. I never really learned any of the whole attraction game in highschool or from my father, and my mother told me to just be a "nice guy". So "The Game" (as well as a few other books) and this website helped me out a sh1tload.

The thing that I found to be most helpful in "The Game" were the little things that seemed to be very common among all females.. (eye contact, the squeeze your hand test, knees pointing toward you.. etc) However, it doesn't ring true in all females.

I had social skills, a large social circle and everything long before I found out about seduction, so it's not all social skills.

Look, this PUA stuff is kinda bs, depending on how you use it. OP, your first post did sound very ****y, but I can see where you're coming from.
I think this forum, and to an extent the whole "community" is whatever you choose to make it out to be. If you think this is the red pill, then cool. If youre like me, and used it for a foundation and then built around said foundation, then cool. People should just be happy for others and themselves, though I agree, overusing the lingo does get annoying. I had a buddy of mine a while back who spoke exclusively like that, but never got the proper terms right.

I for one dont see anything wrong with very diverse ways of thinking, especially on this forum. Some of the men on here are enormous pansies, some are badasses, some think theyre badasses, and some think theyre pansies. It all helps as a good learning experience for everyone on here. The fact of the matter is, men dont have alot of groups where we can get help, or hear whatever it is we need to hear to be able to make something out of ourselves. Sometimes its a good thing that a site like this exists. I could tell you from personal experience this site served the purpose, not so much for the packaging (ie- do this to get 50135456 girls a month) but more so for the underlying message (ie- have things in your life that matter other then women) that I needed to get myself back on track.

What all this PUA stuff does is gets you thinking in the right direction.

To me its not about some kind of magical formula that has been unlocked by the pua that you need to master but more so just to set you on a better path and that path is like hustlaz said:

all simple stuff but hard to do.
