Improving yourself socially is important too. Being good with people and keeping the right company is vital! Improve yourself spiritually and morally, peace of mind helps you improve at other things at a faster rate.

to improve yourself in anything, you must challenge yourself. most people are content in their lifestyle and never change thus being mediocre all their lives. you have to go one step further than what you would normally do... and you will end up improving small parts of your life and develop as a person AKA developing a personality

there is a quote that goes something like "If you compete against others, you stop once you reach their level, if you compete against yourself you will find that you can always do better." see its not any set thing like working out or dressing better, by always doing something a little outside of your comfort zone you are changing for the better

that's how i improve....

don t be attached to the outcome
don t instantly call yourself a loser cos you ve failed
when i first started as a language teacher i was fired by the school head of a language school for being incompetent

now i get letters from students telling me how much they ve enjoyed my teaching

i could have packed it up after my first terrible experience instead i chose to persevere and the rest is history as they say ( though u can t please everybody )

hmm i never thought of improving myself socially. thats a great point, and probably something ive overlooked. what are some ways to improve myself socially?

how do you become genuinely a better conversationalist? like physically improve your social skills, as opposed to just having some canned lines to use.

Well like I said just step out of your comfort zone... sometimes I just blurt out what's on my mind good or bad and then I see the consequences or results without thinking about how it would be perceived... If it turns out bad then it gets subconsciously written in my mind as something I should not say, and with enough crash and burns and things that just work you evolve a pattern of what should or shouldn't say and the effect it will have.

Also even if something you said is retarded, if you let a conversation flow by just saying what's on your mind it involves a lot more emotion (whether good or bad ) and a more memorable connection. That's why I stick away from canned lines cause you can tell one something is not genuine or of the moment.
