I work out alot and eat healthy foods to keep my abs defined and my biceps bulging. I buy designer jeans and expensive shirts that make me look the most appealing. I am always trying to improve myself, Always. Deep down I feel like this is so f*cking stupid. Brad Pitt says this fight Club;

**** off with your sofa units and strine green stripe patterns, I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let... lets evolve, let the chips fall where they may.

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed of people.

I believe this to be very true. I try to look good, have nice clothes, drive a cool car to make myself feel good about myself and for other people to think I'm cool. I know Self Improvement is mastubation, I know. I do not want to be a fat azz and wear sh*itty clothes though. I would hate myself if I was fat and normal. I want to be different, I want to be special. I do not want to put on a show anymore. I just want to be ME, does anybody concur with me?

I'm dieting down again for the same reasons. Also because I'm older now and my metabolism is more mellow, and because I still have muscle for some reason and I haven't done jack **** in a year.

I'm getting in shape for vanity, because it's a challenge and I want to reach at least 80% of my genetic potential, and because few other people are motivated to do so or can do it. A challenge.

Fight Club is great and all but the philosophy is very focused on anarchy and destruction. That has it's place but not when it comes to how to live your life. You want to build things for yourself not squander and destroy, just for the hell of it. That's what losers do, they waste, they squander and in the end are left with nothing.

The irony here is that you are reaching out for "something" more "real" yet you are getting your inspiration from a Hollywood movie. What is it with Fight Club and The Matrix that affects so many young guys? There are no red or blue pills and if you tried to live your life using the ideals presented in Fight Club you'd be absolutely miserable.

The reality is that you are perfectly able to live and look great and at the same time do something meaningful with your time. It doesn't have to be so absolute like you see in the movies.

If you tried to live your life using any rigid ideals you will be miserable. Extremism isn't good for mental health, whatever the extreme may be.

it wasn't to be happy, it was to attain catharsis and freedom. You could technically live a life similar to that, shooting yourself in the face and still stand probably not, but its not to attain joy.

Sex is to masturbation
as
self-destruction is to self-improvement

this self-improvement is a nod to the superficial body building and tony robbins seminars. Self-destruction is tearing all the bull**** down in your life and facing who you truly are, which helps improve your life anyway.

wake the **** up. thats the point :D

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Socrates, Plato,and Aristotle were all warriors as young men. It was necessary. So was having slaves, to free you up to THINK.
