Self help sites are addicting, expecially when you are constantly trying to find a solution to your problem. I have problems which I won't share here unless you want me to, but I constantly look at forums, including this one, and depression and anxiety forums, and relationship forums, etc. I work at a bookstore and I read constantly books from the self help section. I also read Psychology today the magazine. I am even taking an online psychology course online and writing my paper on Avoidant Personality Disorder, an illness whose criteria I seem to fullfill. Am I nuts and can anyone relate? Thanks.

Get help man.

I think people always could use work on themselves but if youre at the point where self help is COUNTER productive stop reading about it and just get out there and apply what you learn.

I think thats the key. A lot of people who read this site will probably be think that they are gathering their ammunition if you will for when they meet chicks but I bet at least half if not more of them will never use a single trick or tip they learned here or will not approach girls in any greater quanity or of greater quality than they would have if they never came accross this site.

Self help is generally a waste of time, depending on the material. There is some good stuff out there, mostly the stuff that teaches you specific things. Its more How to then self help that way, and it sorta works.

But the key to making it work is not reading about it 24/7 but by doing.
