I have never been a kid who had a belly and some how this thing has formed and i hate ittttttt. I used to always laugh at the others that had to watch what they ate and now im one of them! In the past, if i wanted something i just ate it, whether it was a brownie with 500 grams of fat or 0 grams of fat, I ate it and didnt care. For the past month and a half I decided to go on a diet to lose this belly while working out. For the first 2 weeks I was doin just fine, No soda and cheated like twice with pretty much 2 choclate candy bars. Then one day i decided, heyy i could take a one day break, it wont hurt, I drank soda and pigged out. Without even recognizing it, one day turned into two, two into three and three into.................. U get the point.

What i wanted to know was if u guys had any techniques that helped u stay away from all this junk........... because i Cant!

Make sure you eat 6 meals a day - high protein, low carb diet

Allow yourself one cheat meal a week - trust me, it'll taste sooo much better if it's only once a week

If you have a craving for sweets, try some sugar-free sweets - there's plenty of them out there. They don't taste that great and may give you diarrhea, but at least they'll satisfy your sweet tooth

I have found problems, like giving in, to other things, not so much food though. However, whenever there is something I MUST do, but I am "too tired" for, or "don't really feel like doing," I think of someone very successful, a role model, and think, "Man, they got to be this damn good, how can i get what I want when I give in to a chocolate bar."
For me, working out, i think Vin Diesel(for his body and acting). Would Vin have gotten where he had had he procrastinated, etc.? HELL NO.
I swear to God, this works so well for me. Good Luck!

Its just like...... God damn it tastes so good!

I would have to compare this problem to porn......

I really dont want to eat/watch it as a way of testing myself but once u see it and u get into it, U cant get ur mind off of it no matter what u try. Especially when its right infront of ur face waitin to be unwrapped. Its like a x-mas gift.

and these candy bars kinda make me feel good lol, but after i eat them i feeel LOWWWW. I tell myself, if i could go back i wouldnt have eaten it and RIGHT NOW im drinking the forbidden SODA!

Damn this ****, there has to be another way.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

Yeah, willpower. I used to eat lots of sweets myself. In my town there is this place where you can order about a gallon of ice cream with toppings. If you eat it all, it's free. I was one of only 3 people who could do it.

Try going 2 weeks with less than 10 g of carbs a day. It'll mitigate your carb addiction.

If I can do it, then anyone, ANYONE, can.

Half the battle is not having junk food in your house. Then, try and just walk past the s**t at the store. Just don't buy it.

I used to have tons of ladies at work give me food, and i would eat ANYTHING. But i just snapped, and i don't touch it anymore. Even if someone brought in a Krispy Kreme and put it in front of my face, i still wouldn't eat it.
I'm trying to burn of the layer of fat so my abs can show, and i hate cardio. Eating that go**amn donut would put me on the bike for another hour and a half.

When tiger woods was a child, he was determined to obtain his goals no matter what obtacles would thwart his progress.

he put a golf poster on his wall, and made a list of things that he would do daily to help him achieve his goals....he made it...

now obviously your not trying to play golf, but the same technique could be used to help you or anyone else. "why am i doing this?" you ask....motivation....this is what puts you on your diet in the first place. i feel that when you splurge, your motivation is dangerously low...

when u feel like splurging find some motivation.

p.s. be strict with yourself

This is one of the best tips I've found for controlling food intake -

Whenever you find yourself craving foods that you know you shouldn't eat, BRUSH YOUR TEETH. Not only does this help you not eat, but it may improve your oral hygeine.

I stop by the grocery store every night on the way home from the gym. (I know most people won't be able to). I only buy what I need for dinner, and make enough for two more meals the next day. No waste and I always have fresh meat and veggies. ( I also make eggs whites for breakfast, make a protin shake for mid morning, and/or take protien bars with me. I take a cooler to work everyday).

When I get that craving for simple carbs, I try to eat some fruit, or raisins. Of course I do slip now and then.

I have to have my carbs. I get real irritable without them...

To help with cravings, try eating 1-2 tablespoons of "all natural" peanut butter. Make sure it's all natural, not just regular PB(garbage)..This will usually kill your sweet cravings.

Also, theres fat free jello and low fat pudding(~7 carbs 1/4th a packet).

If you can't handle 1 cheat meal a week, at most have 2 cheat meals a week spaced out(ex: Wed/Sat), just don't go as crazy as if you were doing 1 cheat meal a week.

I do a whole cheat day. Usually sunday... I don't really gain any weight. If I do, it's water weight...

Jello? May have to get some....

Oh yeah, i second the notion about pudding. Some flavors have no fat, and others have very little fat. If you make it will skim milk, you have a kickass snack thats easy to make, tastes awesome, low in fat, and high in protein!

I've got a friend who mixes chocolate protien powder in with pudding. I haven't tried it, but it's a thought. She also put it in oatmeal and other things...
