I think it was Warboss Alex, who recommended a "seefood" diet for my bulking, meaning eat everything in sight. That's actually what I did the first time I bulked, and I gained quite a bit of weight.

At the moment, I am very busy with school, work, and my business. I barely have time to get enough sleep and eat several meals a day. I also commute, so going to the gym won't really fit in my schedule at the moment.

I am thinking of bulking while doing body weight exercises. For example, Matt Furey style push ups, crunches, pull ups and chin ups, and Matt Furey squats. I will eat as much as humanly possible while getting around 6-8hrs of sleep. I'll make a little schedule of workouts as well.

I figure the worst case scenario is that I will get in better shape, get more toned. Is it possible to gain muscle weight this way, granted I get the right amounts of protein, carbs, fat?

I certainly hope you are not doing a lot of seefooding at fast food joints.

Yeah, the bodyweight exercises will cap out after a bit and there won't be any progressive overload anymore.

Can you afford to get some equipment at home? Like, maybe you have a spare bedroom. Get an adjustable bench, a very basic power rack, 7" barbell, and some weights. There's not really much else you need. Perhaps an adjustable dumbbell, and you'd be set.. Seriously, look on ebay for a rack and barbell, you might be surprised at how cheap you can pick all this up for.

Hey thanks for clearing that up. In that case I am going to try to squeeze in some gym time. Funny you mentioned fast food. I was eating a lot of that in the past few weeks but The Meatrix thread in the Anything Else forum kind of got to me. I haven't had fast food since March 8th (and I used to eat it nearly everyday). For some reason I've just become more focused on this goal of getting healthier. Right now I'm trying to completely cut out the junk food - which is a little challenge since it's so easy to grab out of the pantry when studying. But then I think about how it's only going to surge my insulin levels and make me hungrier later and also kill my muscles, and then I fight the temptation. I think not masturbating also gives me a lot more energy that makes me want to exercise.

The only thing I've noticed about bodyweight exercises is that they seem to be more endurance/stamina than strength/size. Except for crunches. Crunches definitely put creases on my abs.

Great idea about buying gym equipment! I don't know why I didn't think of that. I searched on eBay, and you're right it's really cheap. We have a few extra rooms in the house, so I could probably make a little gym out of one of them. I'll probably get a bench, some dumbells and a barbell, and a Smith Machine.

Thanks again. I'm going to figure out a meal/gym plan soon and make thread later to chart my progress, etc.

you'll need to figure out some munchies for studying that don't spike the insulin. i can think of lots of possibilities, but I don't think prohibition will get you there -- studying takes lots of energy.
