The study was specifically about carnal, sexual attraction. You're describing just the sort of beta, supplicating men that PUA forums say that women don't want. So which is true? Do women want the supplicators or the guys who think for themselves?

In primate species the smile is meant to convey "I am not a threat." This is why chimpanzees will often smile when threatened or when they are guilty. Alpha males are generally perceived as powerful in some way and thus should be somewhat threatening.

A person who smiles a lot isn't necessarily happy. I know of several guys and girls who smile a lot who are actually quite depressed. A man who shows confident/dominant body language, speaks with an authoritative tone etc. shows that he is probably quite sure of himself, and this is often correlated with happiness.

As other posters have stated, while a woman may want a "mostly" confident man, she wants him "tied" to something that is his white whale. In other words a man that is totally confident in himself and his options scares the crap out of most women. It may give them the tingles, but it also may make them wave off due to their belief that they cannot tame him sufficiently to keep. See he knows his worth, and therefore she may very well not accept his advances.
I very well know I've experienced this. I'm 42YO in shape, make excellent coin, am easy on the eyes, and I know damn well I've had some chicks that I've kept as plates run to a lesser guy. Just because he promised his undying allegience to her and her obsession with buying "stuff" lifestyle.

Although I won't live any other way other than by my rules, it is sad to see that most American males have been brainwashed to the matrix so deeply.

Basically what you are saying is, if you're truly confident with yourself, women are not likely to settle down with you. If this is actually proven stuff and not some bull**** from some random social experiment, this might be something worthy of note.

I've never been married, it geniunely doesn't look like much fun when I'm sat amongst married friends with their irritable bickering (do these people wait for visitors?). Maybe I'm naive, but I'd don't ever want to find someone that irritating, much less do I want someone to find ME that irritating.

I suppose it's good that you'd have someone to share bills with? I don't know.

I'm either genuinely happy as I am or in some kind of ignorant bliss, either way, yes, happy

Yes and no. I rejected a girl that I proposed to marriage and she said yes to me. You see, afterwards, when I found out her ex husband was a pastor, is still waiting for her to come back to him, is willing to re-marry her, and he himself has never dated, fvcked, or married any woman since she left and fact she really fell out of love with him, etc.... I dumped her like a hot potatoe -- which was hard because I really loved her. Since I've just got rotten options so far, I guess I'm probably better off staying single. At least I know God won't strike me with a lightening bolt on this down the road.

I think knowing someone loves you (being a woman that loves you for you), and you love her has got to be one of the most amazing things since you can go out places with her, expand your social life, etc..... if she's your other half or soul-mate.

But my experience of relationship is that I had more stress than when I was single. So I'm not sure if I'm happier now than when I was in a relationship since I'm longing for one again, but I'm sure know there is a heck allot less stress in my life. Don't think you can trade peace of mind for a few highs. I'm not waiting for when she's going to email me, worrying if she's too friendly with another guy on a social, how to pay for a wedding, honeymoon, etc.... or worrying if I don't do what she says she can walk out on me like her ex-husband.... now I can just relax and make money.

I've been divorced for 12 years. Best thing I can say is be good with what you are in. If you are single, be good at that. Married, be good at that. In a relationship, good at that. Happiness is an internal thing to me. Having a girlfriend or spouse shouldn't complete you. That's the problem with most matrix driven guys. They think that's their mission.
