Now I have heard stories about guys having girls wanting them, then they say "I love you!" Then they start ignoring them and lose attraction.

Now, I have also heard stories about men saying "I love you!" and it works, and then they are interested in having sex.

So I see in the first example, maybe saying "I love you!" defeats the person of being a challenge. Portrays you are won over. Which means the women feel they have nothing to work for.

So the second example. Possibly shows that you love them for who they are. Not their body.

So what's the rule? When do you tell a girl you love them?

if you want to say i love you....do it drunk. then if their not so inviting, you got a good excuse. i love everybody when i'm drunk, silly fool.
i usually wait for the girl to tell me that first. then your safe.

While I hate the idea of using rules with girls, waiting for the girl to say I love you first is a rule that every guy should follow.

The only rule on saying I love you is ONLY say it if you genuinely love the person. Love is not infatuation, raging hormones or attraction. Love is something that takes time and actually really knowing a person to feel. If someone is telling you they love you in less than 6 months they most likely don't really love you...even if they think they do. Same goes for any of you here. However, until you finally feel real love you don't know the difference between it and infatuation.

If you only say it when you REALLY love someone and you have chosen wisely on who to let those feelings grow for...when you say it she will not lose interest and dump you.

This was from a newsletter by Marius Panzarella. Suggest you sign up some good practical advice.

Many guys make the mistake of "confessing" their love
too early - when the woman does not have the same level of
commitment yet.

And guess what happens when you confess your love to a
woman who does not share the same level of commitment?

Well...two things may happen...

1) If she does indeed like you a lot, then she will
start taking you for granted because you've told her you love
her. Her attraction for you will almost always drop unless
there is already a VERY stable relationship between you too.
(Highly unlikely if you've only been going out for a few
months.)

2) Or...if she is just a woman you're dating...and
does not share the same feelings yet (as in she likes you,
but does not "love" you yet), she'll probably have no choice
but to break your heart by saying something like, "I wish
you wouldn't say that" or "Let's just be friends"...

So how do you know if you're ready to "pop the words"?

Use the following checklist:

1) You've gone out for AT LEAST a year.

2) You know she shares the same feelings.

3) Both of you have been loyal to each other the whole
time.

4) You've weathered storms together.

5) You know she wants to commit to you.

6) You know there's a CHANCE she's the girl you're going
to marry.

7) You know each other's secrets that nobody else know
about.

8) You're not saying "I love you" to get anything in
return. (Example: Sex)

9) You know it's real.

10) You're not saying it because you want her to
say it back.

Once again, be careful to NOT jump the gun and say
these words too early, or you will push your woman away from
you like a speeding bullet from an air rifle!
