rubbing alcohol to clean face ?

anyone used rubbing alcohol to clean his face as cheap cleansing method? Would alcohol dry out the skin pores?

i tried rubbing alcohol. it dried out my face after it broke it out really bad.

soap is much better.

That depends on the type of soap you use. Unless you're stuck in the 1700's you have a wide variety of soap (or if you're still living back then, "lye") to choose from. Some is formulated specially to not block pores, some is called "facial cleansing", etc etc... the only thing they have in common is that (almost all) cost under $4 bucks.

Get a medication called Clindatech, its pure alcohol (poison) and works a charm! Definately dries out the pores if they are oily!

Cleansers contain surfactants like sodium laureth sulphate which act as detergents.

True soaps contain salts of fatty acids made by combining fat with a strong alkali e.g. sodium hydroxide. However a lot of bar 'soaps' just contain detergents and thickening agents, hence are not really soaps.
