This is the second time I have won over the police with respect... My life literally could be in ruin right now... actually got chills thinking about it just now.

If you have carried yourself and others with respect your entire life, I believe that it spreads to other people because in the end, we all just want love and respect. These cops have long shifts and have seen alot, I bet seeing a young man being respectful was a shred of hope for them.

I did not follow the finger perfectly and I almost lost my balance a few times walking the line and had to widen my arms a few times just to walk strait, I certainly was not toe to toe.

but I kept walking... ONE SIR, TWO SIR, THREE FOUR..

I didn't even have proof of insurance and I had expired tabs...

When he asked me when I was pulled over, "HOW MUCH HAVE YOU HAD TO DRINK TONIGHT?" I said "Just a few drinks sir" he said "A few how much is a few, take out your license and registration, and wontcha step out of that car."

I saw my life flash before my eyes.

When I got off the first time, the lady cop just told the squad that showed up "He was so POLITE!" and they all dashed away as I was still drunk in my car.

This time I was walking the line. this time I thought for sure at least a breatholizer. I thought, ok well kindness isn't going to get me anywhere.

but respect won him over.

Women CRY. Men show RESPECT.

Woman also cry when they attend the funeral of their dead child who was run over by a drunk driver, which I remember witnessing when I attended such a funeral years ago. That was also the first time I saw a grown man cry. The driver drove up on the side walk where he was standing with his older sister and ran him over, basically crushing him with his truck. He was 5 years old. They had to do a closed casket.
I read about girl who ran some guy over with her car and kept driving. She thought she hit a deer (on a city road) that’s how drunk she was. The guy was a proud new father. He had posted pics of his son on his Facebook that morning.

Seriously, getting away with driving drunk is nothing to brag about. If you cause an accident and hurt someone, respect won’t win anyone over and you could lose you license for a year or even more.

If you end up killing someone, you would have to live with that fact, and this post will look much different to you in retrospect.

Please just take a taxi or Uber if you get drunk. That’s showing respect, for yourself and for other people.

It's posts like these, where the poster is feeling accomplished about being able to get out of something so heinous, that make me understand WHY they struggle with finding quality women. Because no self RESPECTING (since that's your thread theme) quality woman is going to hitch her wagon to a dude that actually brags about not only driving drunk as the norm, but being able to beat the system. But random low quality hoes will be all over that

My bad I agree. Athough I was not smashed, I never would be, I was a little tipsey to drive 2 blocks to Perkins.

I deserve all the flame for seeming like this is a pass on drinking and driving. this thread does seem distasteful but it reaally was not my intent.

internet does a good job of pointing out all your flaws lol.

@MillionBillionaire very stupid to drive drunk. What's worse is that you'd probably live. However, you'd either be in chronic pain, loss of limb, TBI or worse live with the knowledge that you seriously hurt or killed someone.

Cut that crap out. You like respect? Start respecting yourself and others by NOT DRIVING FVCKING DRUNK!!

I never said you deserve trash, I said quality women will pass you up because of these types of decisions. Nothing about what you posted, and BRAGGED about, is attractive.

Lower quality females won't care you do this stuff. They have lower standards . All they hear is "he has a car and money to buy booze" they will be all over that

This isn't something to be proud of. The fact you're praising yourself for getting out of it twice now shows you haven't learned your lesson, nor care about others around you that you could possibly harm or even kill due to your recklessness behavior.

Same here, got pulled over way out of my town in a bad area I did not know I was in a bad area, they interrogated me and I allowed them to search my truck cause I had nothing to hide. THREE cops, one big tall one the whole time did not believe or trust me. They thought I was up to no good slingin drugs, prostitutes whatever. Asked to search my phone - that's where I drew the line, but I was respectful the whole time. One cop looked like Ponch from "Chips." Talked like him too. This was over 4 years ago. So I tell them to be safe as they let me go, and that I appreciate their service or what they do how dangerous it is. They knew where I worked by searching my truck, that may have gotten me off the hook idk.

DUI law is one big scam. People die from doing all sorts of stupid sh!t while driving, but you never see someone say you are the world's worst person for texting, eating, or driving while sleepy. All of you have been conditioned to cheer on the destruction of your Constitution rights by the police state.

What do you think would happen if there's no law to regulate or discourage drunks from driving around ?

Im against drunk driving

However this is something that the goverment and most ppl are over reacting about. Laws are getting more and more serious about it here in
Canada but the number of accident/incident had remain almost the same in the last 20 year.

I need to expand on my previous post.

With the advent of hail riding platforms, people now have the option to reach safely home with just a few dollars rather then putting themselves or innocent bystanders at risk. So there's hardly any excuse for drunk driving.

I too drink regularly, on a hot sunny day I'll have 2 cans of beers around 3pm and would partake with alcohol consumption while entertaining clients/friends at least 3 x per week.

I use uber, it's convenient, no need to find parking and drops me right at the front door of any establishment I fancy.

But I also do understand ur concerns about the overzealous enforcement of the law.

The law ain't the problem in most cases, its the people enforcing it that needs to be more judicious in its application.

That's the main root cause but men who drinks regularly or know when they are drunk should be responsible too by calling any of their local ride hailing services, its easy too, just a click on an app.

Have you not been to the Caribbean? There is basically no law enforcement there, at least the places I went. And everyone is not crashing and dying.

Police in the US are drunk on their own power. I once had them write my gf of the time an "under the limit dui" and yes, that is a thing. If you pass the rigged and crooked breathalyzer, then they can still write the dui anyway, at least in my state. We were in my car and she was driving bc i was drunk. Then as they were impounding my car and I was telling the state cop he was a dirty car thief, he then takes my keys and waves them in my face, daring me to take them, for you see, the moment I touched those keys in his hand, I would be drunk, in my car, and in possession of my keys, which are the three required elements of a dui. I did not fall for the trap. He immediately stopped when I told him he was just trying to arrest me too.

Your beef is then with the enforcement not the law itself.

The intention of the law is good but the enforcement is fvcked up.

Try getting arrested in Singapore for drunk driving and you'll see how efficient their whole law enforcement is.

I was produced within 4 hours in a magistrate court, paid the fvcking fine as a 1st offender and not allowed to drive for 6 fvcking months.

I know of many people who were killed by drunk drivers, they were hit head on. Including children, teenagers, and young adults.

Im not sure why you are proud of this. Idiots like you kill innocent people every day. Stop driving drunk. Its not cool and nobody deserves to die because you are a fvcking moron. Grow up.

Maybe if you ended up getting arrested it would have slapped some damn sense into you.

What is your race? I will partially concede on one point, that I have a Black cousin that also kisses up to the cops and bragged about getting out of speeding fines. But again, some cops are KKK members and have put up very racist social media tweets. There are countless videos of Blacks who are doing nothing wrong in their encounters with police and being respectful, but somehow ending up injured, dead or even dead with missing organs, or somehow drugs are magically found when they don't do drugs. At the minimum I'd say you got a decent cop and that had nothing to do with you being respectful, and it's either your race, or the type of cop you encountered.
