Regrets

Every now and then I get these feelings of regret that I didn't go to college out of my home city to live in a campus and live that college life they talk about...

I feel like I have missed one of the great experiences of life and this saddens me quite a lot when I remember about it :-/.

I will live it soon, though, because I'm going abroad for the Masters Degree, but that time hasn't come yet.

4 years have already been wasted (this Uni sucked HARD to top it all) and what if the regrets about it will linger?
I can't shake them completely off in the present. (they're not permanent, but appear rarely)

Any wise words for my situation, fellas?
Thanks in advance.

Go to a third world country and complain to the people there.

The only thing I can say is, don't think of those 4 years as a waste. Not only do you have a unique perspective on life that other people will never have, but you still have time to do something really awesome before you start your life on campus. You never missed out on any experiences, just took a little time getting there.

Btw, I'm 19, and took a year off after graduating high school. Hopefully I'll be attending college this fall.

uni is just a small part of your life and thus you should really think ahead about the future bcos believe it or not, your life can be amazing, if you see it that way. Lil wayne said it best; ''regret is a wasted emotion, i aint got time for that sh1t , im too busy winning''. I had a sh1tty uni experience just like you but my life now is beautiful and I am just grateful for gettin a new lease of energy. If you think your life will be amazin from here on in, it most probably will because others will see that you love life and welcome you into their realities.

Edit: List of other wasted emotions I know;

Anger
Pride

Fear (If not channelled towards productive behaviour) - fear is unavoidable bcos no man is perfect
Anxiety
Jealousy
Worry
Impatience

edit of my edit;

Edit: List of other wasted emotions I know (which are actually interlinked);

Anger (personal and general wars are caused by this)
Pride (just dumb to have too much of this)
Fear (If not channelled towards productive behaviour) - fear is unavoidable bcos no man is perfect.
Anxiety (cause physical ailments,stress and tensions)
Jealousy (not cool at all)
excessive lust (mostly messes things up)
envy (can be used productively)
Worry (good/bad? YOU decide)
panic (lack of control)

Are you saying it's not cool to EVER feel these things? Because that just sounds inhuman

No i'm just sayin you should be aware of these emotions when you feel them and learn how to positively channel them. Emotions are extremely GOOD when they're controlled properly.

P.S I caught that little subtlety with the italics in your reply, gosh your good! u shud work for the CIA.......
