So I've got a pretty good face washing routine that typically keeps me fairly clear (aside from a few scars left over from massive breakouts in highschool). Still, once every two or three months or so I'll get one or two large pimples that completely ruin a week or two.

Any tips on fighting these? I use a Benzoyl Peroxide spot treatment that seems to heal them a bit faster, but often they happen at inopportune times (just before a job interview for instance), and reducing their noticability quickly would be a good thing.

Mmm... if anyone has some tips on getting rid of red marks faster as well, I'd be much obliged. I supplement with a daily multi-vitamin and extra vitamin E, but nothing really seems to fade them out.

grab your sisters concealer or foundation for an instant fix..

but better yet, don't let the pimples get to you. they REALLY aren't as big a deal as you think..

and i am talking from experience..

i had quite bad acne, then perfectly clear skin (thanks to a course of roaccutane) which really boosted my confidence. and for the last 4-6 months the roaccutane is completely out of my system and my pimples have returned. it hasn't affected my game at all.

*however, i am going to see the dermatologist again in about 2 weeks to get back on roaccutane.. its a hell of alot easier then having to pop big white bastards each morning.. AND i know i shouldn't pop, but i always get really big white ones.. (no scaring from the 4 years i've been getting pimples..?)

Whether you scar or not depends on how you pop the pimple. Press to hard and you'll most likely scar. However, if you sterilise a needle and stick it into the head of the pimple, you won't have to press as hard, so you're much less likely to scar.

Spukee, there's a whole forum dedicated to fading red marks over at http://www.acne.org . At the moment I'm using the baking soda + apple cider vinegar thing. Sounds strange, works great.

People hardly notice a few pimples here and there anyway, so I wouldn't really worry.

Haha, yeah I don't really let acne get me down - it's something I've delt with for long enough now, y'know? Still, I'd prefer if the breakouts didn't happen just before important events (although I suppose it's the stress that triggers them).

Thanks for the link simon - I'm lurking through the forums now, and I've already stumpled on some good-sounding advice :D

You get 1 or 2 pimples in 2-3 months? Thats not bad at all.4-8 pimples a year? Lol,cmon dont sweat it. Anyways, Proactiv clears your skin along with a moisturizer in the morning(I dont use proactiv during the day unless I go home after school and chill out). Sun produces oil which builds up on your skin and creates pimples. If you go outside try to use spf15 sunscreen and always wash your face soon after. Try to stay away from dairy products although it gets kinda ridiculous. STRESS=major factor in pimples because stress releases oil on your face, everytime I get in an argument in a few days i'll get a pimples unless im using proactiv strictly. Alot to handle but you wanted to know so, here ya go.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

1 or 2 every 3 months is nothing. Take it from me. I get one or two cysts every week!

I wash my face with a clearasil cleanser, and then apply tea tree oil mixed w/ some water to each pimple that I have (which is usually a few tiny ones and the big cyst of the week). It works very well for little whiteheads and such but I've yet to find a good treatment for cysts. We'll have to see how this treatment works, I've only been doing it for a week.

I've been on the acne.org regimen, and a few other regimens from the messageboard on that site, but none of them worked very well. Benzoyl peroxide just doesn't work for me. I've been using this tea tree stuff for a while and it seems to work better.

Don't let your acne get to you. I try not to, and I seem to do well even with acne. The only time my zits ever get to me is when I have to do public speaking, which is usually every week.
