The girl I am seeing right now thinks I am racist. I am not. Prejudiced...sometimes, but that doesnt make me racist. She thinks that just because I say beaner, carpet head, and other things similar I am racist....and she is really bothered by it...i can quit saying these things, but how do I really let her know that I am not racist?

Saying comments such as the ones you listed does nothing to help your cause. I am sure you can attract a closed minded, possibly racist girl talking like that. If that's what you are looking for, don't change a thing.

Becoming a DJ is all about self improvement. To say you can't (I think you mean unwilling) quit saying these things is lame.

I've never heard of any of these, and I used to be friends with a guy who turned out to be very rascist. Needless to say we didn't stay good friends for too long.

Carpet head... a guy with a bad toupe?

Beaner... someone who farts a lot?

I'm a rebel without a clue.

For some reason, this reminds me of Jack's line:

"You make me wanna be a better man."

As cool as you may think you are for saying them, everyone instantly has a negative opinion on you as a person

If she's still with you, all you have to do is cut out those behaviors. You don't have to do anything extra. She'll be happy, and you'll be a better person.

I am not sure but usually women do not care for guys that put down other people. Some women say it makes it seem as if the guy thinks that the only way to make himself look good is by putting other people down.

But I digress, you can not say anything to change her mind. All that matters is what you do.

tell her your not racist because you own a colour tv.

This could be a **** test to see if you stand up to your convictions or you supplicate and apologise to her for being so insensitive. In any other situation (other than racism) i would never back down from an argument or never apologise for any rude remarks. But to be on the safe side then 'cut that **** out'.

Let me get this straight. You're prejudiced, but not racist. OK.

When you're "sometimes prejudiced", you use racial slurs.

So then... you're prejudiced against race, yes?

Which would make you... what, a pedophile?

Honestly, if you're making fun of someone, don't make fun of their race. In the words of the late Martin Luther King, Jr.:

"I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

In other words, make fun of people for who they are.

Keep the dream alive.

Trace man. I feel ya. I only date white women and I say innappropritate things about rednecks, peckerwoods, ****less, lil ****ed men, shea whitey and all the rest to my women and some think I hate white guys. Hell my best friend is white...how could they think that? How can I show them that I'm not pred... against white men? Interesting point to ponder. Maybe I should keep any debase comment about other races in my head where they belong...I really need not to teach my kids that old black saying "don't trust white folks" and **** like that that almost every American black family teaches their young...instead we need to open up and "just get along"

But alot of this **** comes from just being programmed like a robot by our family and friends. We need to stand up forourselves one day and strip our programming away you know what I mean...take the red pill and wake up to reality. We are all stuck on this planet together. The change starts in you head. I need to look the other way in a bar bathroom when I notice white guy's on the majority do not wash their hands after taking a wizz (used to be a bouncer), and it's cool that you guys may take a shower everyday or not...it's all good bruh...there are differences in each race which makes us all unique

peace

Thats funny. People are quick to label you for using a stupid term even if there was no malicious intent.

I'm as all American white boy as they come and I'll be the first to make fun of rednecks or trailer trash. It isn't about the color of skin, it's about who the person is.

To the original question- I would simply refrain from making those comments around her. Some (many) people are funny like that and you aren't going to change them.
