Hey guys I used to work out a lot and was in awesome shape, I did boxing, cardio and weight lifting and was ripped. Lately I've picked up cancer sticks and have noticed how much more tired and moody I am. I was wondering what you guys would recommend to quit smoking, any kinds of tips you could provide will be extremely appreciated.

In my honest opinion it is all in your head. I used to be a smoker, but when I started coughing up flem etc I knew it was time to quit. I usually had a smoke with my coffee, or after a meal. Then it was while I was waiting at a stop light etc etc. The key is to keep busy, you don't really need nictotine gum or patches (I think they may also just be placebo effect). Good luck, if you do end up quitting you'll see a huge difference in fitness levels within the first week.

Heh, I lost $20 to a smoker on a bet about 3 weeks ago. He bet me he could run a 4.5min mile. We went to the track, I lost $20. I bet he makes a lot of money that way.

Maybe he's not a real smoker.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

Just do it.

Is it really that hard to not buy cigarettes? When I lost 30 lbs over a summer I just stopped buying junk food.

If you don't have the will power to stop you deserve what you get. Go Darwin.

No offense.

I did it basically by focusing on the negatives all the time

This is costing me money, I'm getting anxious, I'll have a heart attack at 36 like my father, it's anti-social, girls don't like it, the lack of control is lowering my self-esteem, I have to stand out in the cold/rain/snow to do it.

You mean focusing on the truth.

The only uspide is you get to have a smoke (and the 30sec high from the nicotine). Otherwise it's total ****.

If you're willing to smoke cigarretes, why not ground up tires? Or a dead squirrel? or hell even dried up dog crap. I'm sure the dog crap is better for your lungs than the **** in the cigarettes.
