I took creatine for 6 weeks and made gains of about 6lbs. I went off it for two weeks so far and Ive experienced NO weight loss (unusual right?).

Im going back on it in a week or two and was wondering will i gain again or will i gain nothing?

Thanks.

Let's clear this up once and for all.

The short-term weight gain you experience with creatine is WATER RETENTION. That's right, your body holds on to more water so you weigh more, WOW!

You gain more in the LONG TERM because you are able to lift heavier. Creatine does not cause some kind of magic protein synthesis phenomon to occur. So whatever gains you experience is because you lift heavy and eat big.

Asking rhetorical **** like this is stupid. How the hell am I suposed to know what will happen to you if you take it again?

Ever notice how the loudest people should usually be the ones keeping their mouth shut?

Creatine doesnt cause water retention. water retention is subcutaneous. that does not mean it does not increase water weight it does. that water weight increases the volume/surface area of a cell making it more inclined to split which obviously promotes muscle growth.

personally i never noticed any real weight fluxuations while going on or off creatine.

only way to know is to try again and see.

Surely you are getting into symantics. It is water retention, it's just that it's intra-cellular.

You are wrong.

Not only that but your post is contradicting.

Creatine works directly by increasing the time of ATP conversion, giving you more energy and power. The only way it assists in building muscle, is by enhancing power.

If you think otherwise, post up the studies or research. If not, I'll just assume you pulled that out of your ass.

I know all about creatine helpijg you that little bit more so thats not what i was asking - i just wanted to know if the majority of ppl gain AGAIN when they go back on it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

lets end this.

here's your study:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/...t=Abstract&list_uids=11581550&itool=iconabstr

"and extracellular fluid remained statistically unchanged for all groups. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate that creatine, supplemented concurrently with resistance and anaerobic training, may positively affect cell hydration status and enhance performance variables further than augmentation seen with training alone."

and as a side note the idea that when the surface area to volume of a cell gets too large the cell splits to avoid dying is a basic biological concept that any high school bio teacher can confirm

You guys... RussianProbe or rocket what ever your name is.... you are only 16 champ... you know very little to begin with. For starters.. get your face out of those textbooks and go and train. Thats how the big boys play.

I love how everyone thinks they are an expert because they are able to dictate certain paragraphs of books without opening it. Woop-di-fu*in-do.

Russian... you can train for the next 5 years.. and stil not know how your body reacts to certain things... thus... you will always look like some kind of malnutritioned whippit.

Instead of flaming silverwex.. why not congratulate him for acheiving a 6lb gain... its not his fault that he has just put on more than 50% of YOUR total body weight.

Please do not comment on others until you have the experience.

silverwex.... good work son. Who cares what is helping you achive your goals. When someone says to you.. "wow... you have put on a bit of size.. your training is going well"... you say THANKS.. i am training very hard... i tried creatine.. i like it/dont like it. People dont care about how many cells were split to hold the required millilitres of ater which makes you look bigger.

If people dont have anything constructive to say, without trying to sound like some candidate for a science project... SHUT UP.. and go and field test your experiment instead of relying on someone elses thesis.
