I usually have a container of psyllium husk (unflavored, unsweetened) on hand and have a dose every week or two. Taken with liquid, it expands in your intestinal tract and supposedly "scrapes" off your intestinal walls before being digested and pushed out as waste. I'll spare the graphic details, but a lot of times it will come out shaped like a mold of your lower intestine LOL.
Now is it worth the money? Who knows...I can't vouch for the veracity of any health claims...I figure you can't really be doing too much harm other than to your wallet.
