Why is it that women are so comfortable doing say, lesbian things or touching inappropriately...(like spooning other girls, hugs, kissing, etc) and there seems to be a scale of how lesbian girls are..

While with guys.. Its kind of black and white.. Gay or not.. No hugs or kissing or cuddling

just random questions

Because the Matrix tells them it's cool, hot, and it's the quickest way to be the center of attention. When I see two chicks kiss in a bar, the chump squad is never far away, recording the event for their collective spank banks.

Outside of the homophobic, cold and passionless Anglo-Saxon culture, it's OK for men to be more affectionate with each other (not to the extent of lipstick attention-wh0ring "lesbians", of course) . Nothing to do with "The Matrix".

I don't think that is the best answer. The better explanation is there are scientific studies which show all women are bisexual but no men are bisexual.

(On a side note, gawd how do I hate feigned lesbianism in a bar or club. It's so annoying. When I see real bonafide lipstick lesbians really go at it, that's when it's hot.)

I have held the theory that "all women are bisexual" for awhile now, but I wasn't aware of any studies. Got any links handy?

Yea, some guys think it's all for show, but I hang with a pretty liberal crowd sometimes and I'll tell you what....these are HOT, FEMME chicks and they DO love to sample a little snatch from time to time. It's kinda fun cause they'll wing you in a heartbeat since they think more like men; they are willing to share.

A couple of reasons; first, women (& girls) are innately more in touch with each other on a familiar level. That intergender affection is commonplace and encouraged socially, so it's a small step going from a familiar affection to sexual affection. Have a read of this article for the biological breakdown of how women process this neurologically.

From a male perspective, heterosexuals and homosexuals are far more isolated in their sexual identities. I wish I had the link handy, but somewhere on SS was posted a link to brain studies done in which heterosexual and homosexual males were exposed to a variety of sexual images. Not surprisingly each were only aroused by their respective sexual preferences; men with women and women with women aroused heterosexuals, men with men for homosexuals. However, when women were exposed to the same imagery they became aroused by EVERY image to varying degrees.

Obviously from a social standpoint it's far more acceptable for women to be sexual with other women than for men to be so with men. Bisexual behavior amongst women is reinforced to a far greater degree than in men in western culture. In fact for the masculine it's almost an absolute; women can be bisexual, but men are gay from the moment they engage in their first homosexual act, from a social perspective. Masculinity is far more rigid than femininity in this respect.

That's not to say there aren't ways for men to express affection for one another, it's just done so in the form of respect or giving each other sh!t. Genuine masculine affection is almost always rooted in competition. In fact it's just this "ribbing" and the level of acceptance of it that sets a gauge for how understanding a man is with regards to masculinity. Giving another guy sh!t in jest is a form of affection - I wouldn't ƒuck with you if I didn't like you.

Oh but of course!
Last year [2004], Bailey, Rieger, and others published a study in which they measured female sexual arousal. They concluded that women — whether they identify themselves as homosexual or heterosexual — have bisexual arousal patterns. That's because the genitals of women participating in the study became aroused when they watched porn, regardless of whether it featured men or women.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/08/30/health/webmd/main805081.shtml
The first study I conducted in the Bailey lab examined sexual arousal patterns of straight, gay, and bisexual men. There has long been controversy about whether bisexual men are substantially sexually aroused by both sexes. We investigated genital and self-reported sexual arousal to videos of either naked men or naked women in 30 heterosexual, 33 bisexual, and 38 homosexual men. (Sexual orientation classification was by Kinsey attraction scores; so the 33 bisexual men claimed to be substantially attracted to both men and women.) In general, bisexual men did not have strong genital arousal to both sexual stimuli featuring only men and sexual stimuli featuring only women. Rather, most bisexual men had a sexual arousal pattern similar to that of gay men (i.e., they got much more aroused to male than to female stimuli), although a few others were more aroused to female stimuli (like straight men are). Interestingly, bisexual men's self-reported arousal to the stimuli was bisexual; that is, most bisexual men reported sexual arousal to both men and women. Male bisexuality appears primarily to represent a style of interpreting or reporting sexual arousal rather than a distinct pattern of genital sexual arousal.

Of course, the study was "controversial" because of sexual politics.
