Question on Approaches

Yeah, a lot of the stuff on the main site say that you should wait until the girl looks at you to approach. How important is this? Can't I just walk up to the girl and start up talking without it? I know, I'm impatient.

You can approach a girl any time you'd like, but it's easier to approach after the initial eye contact.

Ideally, you would make eye contact, smile, then approach.
