Is discussing politics/current events at all really that bad? I guess I could see why that first Saddam thread got locked, maybe. It did get a bit nasty there, but still. And that second one, nobody even argued about anything and the thread got locked. Which means it was the subject matter that was the problem. I know that there have been countless arguements about the Iraq war, but this is a major developement, which has global implications. Of course, its entirely up to the moderators what should be allowed, but I think its reasonable to let people talk about major current events here. After all, it is the anything else forum, for discussing "Sports, the weather, what's happening in the news... or anything else".

Oh, of course, the main reason for me posting this is because I want recognition for being enough of a history buff to answer K Street's question in the original thread.

Ideally, your mastery of semantics would result in revocation of the ban on political threads.

But realistically, all that is likely to happen is for the description of the "Anything Else" forum to be modified so no one will get the wrong idea in the future.

All I have to say on the matter is that intelligent, mature individuals (those of which I'm sure we can agree are no longer in the majority here) that can bring this forum back to its former state of greatness will be much more inclined to post on a board that is defined by its diversity of QUALITY posts, rather than a board that is defined by its censorship.

Just my .02.

Most of the intelligent, experienced DJ's have left this forum. The management it seems would prefer this board to be primarily a forum for teenagers, most who don't know jack shiit because they haven't lived enough yet.
Others were banned because they argued. People argue in real life, so it's only natural that it happens on a message board.

Lets remember the mods prefer boring discussions

I'd liked to hear just one mod say the quality of information and discussions
on this board has improved since they began their banning campaign a couple months ago. This board use to be great as recently as last summer. Now for the most part unfortunately it sucks.

"Welcome to the Don Juan high school forum"

In fairness to
the mods their probably only doing what they've been told to do.

Heh, guess I was out of the loop long enough to not realize there was a formal ban, though I remember there being some problems last I was here. Didn't notice the feedback forum already had a similiar thread though.

Personally, I liked discussing politics with fellow DJs.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.
