Question about texting etiquette

Let's say you have a brief (6 or 7) text exchange and it seems to go well. You are the last one to text her but what you texted doesn't really require a response (it's just a comment on something but it kinda ended that conversation also - wasn't a question).

Do you still wait until she sends you a response? let's say it was early in the afternoon on a Friday and you want her to respond so you can ask her out on a date. Do you wait for a response no matter what or just send another text to ask her out say next morning?

I'm sure women get busy and forget. I sometimes forget to text back my best friends and I've known them for 10 years

Text her. You can't always go precisely by the book. If the last text didn't require a response, you're on neutral ground.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.
