On occasions I have found myself on dates with girls that looked better online than live, I guess that's something that most guys have experienced too. But my question is this : last time I had a date like this she was like a 6 to me so I wasn't even too bothered about teasing her, creating arousal, kino, all that stuff. Would you still proceed as usual just as practice for the next (hopefully) hotter girl that you go out with?

But that's the thing though, you don't want to become too infatuated with her looks. Sure, you can acknowledge the fact she's attractive but understand that she still wipes her ass, shave, take showers, etc. Shes no different than anyone else.
This is good when you understand that because you're treating her like a normal person instead placing her on a pedestal. If she's not an AW, then she'll appreciate that.

What I meant was, when you are out on a date with a girl that isnt that attractive to you, not with one that is.

I would proceed as normal. If not attracted once we meet, I will often use it as practice, kiss close, then never contact her again. It all starts with filtering better online. However, this will lead to many less matches online. I found that I was consistently going on dates with women that just weren't all that interesting, or had a feature that I couldn't stand to be around. I also realized I can show all women a good time and kiss close 90% of them. This means I was aiming wayyyy too low.
So, I have siginifcantly increased my standards on OLD (which isn't saying much) to only contact/swipe/like/message/etc. 8's and above... Now my return rate and mutual likes have gone wayyyyyy down, but I know I am at least attracted to these women. I was getting 2-3 dates a week, whereas now I get maybe 1 every two weeks.
I am not the greatest in looks, so I will not naturally draw the most beautiful women from OLD. However, I do converse well and am pretty witty, which is easier to put on display in person.
