Everyone knows you need to burn more calories than you take in to reduce body fat. But my weight lifting and cardio combined burns about 400-600(?) calories..
Im trying to take in 2000+ calories a day, I dont understand how this can work if im eating that much and burning so little, it seems to me that the calories i burn working out will never catch up to how much Im eating

Well you're leaving some stuff out of the equation.

Calories are burned not only when you're working out.
Breathing, heating the air you take in, and whatnot expends energy and thus calories.

Digestion expends calories, warming the food in your stomach releasing enzymes and such to break down the food. Your stomach churning the food.

Your muscles also have a resting calory consumption.
That's why the more muscle you have the more you can eat without getting fat.

Hope it helps.

I know, its your BMR, how many calories you burn sitting on your ass all day (thanks to Throttle) mine (16 yrs, 6 foot 2, 284lbs) is 2666 calories, if I remember correctly, im supposed to subtract 500(?) from this number, which leaves me around 2100 cals a day for weight loss.
