Hey guys.
i just joint a new gym today. had my first workout, with a mate of mine who is fairly buff.

i've taken photos, not posing, just a relaxed veiw from the front, and relaxed veiw from the side.

i'll post them in here once i get a cable to connect my phone to my PC.

and i'll put new photos up each fortnight.

i won't post a workout plan, nor diet.

later on, if someone wants to know, i'll post it up.

my aim is bulk.

--i've been working out inconsistantly for the last 6 months. i plan on being consistant now. but we'll see how i go. i just think documenting it will help me reach my goals faster.

i'll keep u posted.

document your weights & your plan, you can even sketch a little of your diet too, it'll make it easier to see your progress.

agreed.
but the best way to guage the future is from the past.

i have never stuck to a diet..
i've stuck to workouts for certain body parts, but not all of them.

i'm joining a friend in gym 3 x per week who has a very strict program, so i'll adapt from that.

+ i'll stay as close to diesels guide as i can.
eating + working out.

but theres no point writing out my diet and work out plan, before i've even properly started. it'll be more a rhetrospect thing.

dude

you need to find a way to invest in your plan. Did you ever read that DJ tip of the day about investing in a relationship, and how it's always hard when she breaks up with you or blah blah after all this time and effort you've put into it. You put YOUR time, YOUR effort, YOUR money in, and it gets broken off, so your mind realizes how many of YOUR resources you lost...

...the same applies to your weight training, or goals that you have. If you can find a way to invest yourself into those goals, you will feel bad if you slack on them, and that will cause you to go continue wiht them. For example, in my own personal experience, I decided one quarter of school to try a full out cutting cycle, supplements and all. I ended up dropping like 50 - 75 bucks or something ,and I had all these bottles and such lying around. Maybe it's just how I value money, but those supplements and things lying around weren't gonna help me if I didn't help them help me, so if I ever cheated on my diet, or didn't go to the gym, or didn't do cardio, or snuck a beer.... I'd see all those bottles and think of flushing money down the drain. The investment I put into it strengthened my resolve to do it right, and when you do that, you'll get results.

good advice.
but i'll need to use something other then money to make me stick to it..

i think its just how much i want it..

i just signed up at a new gym, cost $$
i have creatine/protein powder, cost $$

i think i'll stick..
but its one of those things where, if i miss a day, or 4 days. i won't kill myself over it. i know that going there as often as i can is the right track. might not be the fastest way there, but it'll get me to the finish line..

Quest, with your attitude you've wasted money on a gym membership and supplements.

That's my blatant but abridged opinion. Read my "get your freakin' fingers out" thread, because I can already see you're someone who needs a kick up the arse if they're going to get anywhere.

And you have absolutely no idea of what to do, either. Check out the journals on this site and structure your workouts like Zoso, Double, TheRelic or Lifeforce have (as a starting point anyway).

i read your original post from that thread, just now.

and while what you were saying makes sense, i only know about my circumstances, so i can only tell you how i feel about it.

lets use MindOverMatter as an example (as we're both familiar with his physic.) i'd LOVE to have a body like that. and no doubt, i could have a body like that if i worked as hard as he did. i'd also LOVE to own my own airline. neither are unacheivable. but there are other things i want more.
i want to be able to go out and get blind drunk friday and saturday night. i want to be able eat bad food when i feel like eating bad food. sometimes i'll want to slack off at gym, or miss gym all together.
while i'd LOVE to have a body like MoM, right now, i am not prepared to work for that.

but i am prepared to work out often, and eat better more often, to slowly improve my physic. as i said in my first post in this thread.
i'd been working out inconsistantly for the last 6 months. and i plan on being much more consistant now.

over these last 6 months i have seen improvement in my body.
i put on about 4kgs, which is about 9lbs.
i don't how much i would have gained if i worked REALLY hard at it, but i had fun doing it, and am now in a position to work harder at it again, because its still fun for me.

later on i may get to the point that i decide, hell, i want a MoM like body, and i'm going to really crack down and work on it.

my idea of posting fortnightly pictures in this thread is to inspire myself, after about 3 months i'd expect that the first pictures and the last pictures should look quite different.

and putting my lily white ass on the internet for all to see will probably help me stick to me goals, as i don't want to be seen as a failure.

don't condemn me before i've started.

Then you've accepted that you're not putting yourself 100% into this, and so your gains will be appreciably slower than if you were more committed - I won't condemn your attitude since you're aware of the fact that to change your body you have to work extremely hard.

If you want to work out for fun and such, while still doing what you want (i.e. drinking, etc) then go right ahead, I just don't want you to expect anything other than slow, small gains because otherwise you'll be disappointed.
