I have followed Max-OT principles for over a year now. Even if you don't follow it religiously, there is much than can be learned from it.

You're full of $hit. If you've been competitively bodybuilding for 3 years you're not going to come to this $hithole looking for advice.

Get your ass over to the elite-fitness forums and stop lying.

I've done Max-OT for about 9 months now and I've had a lot of success, but I've hit a plateau in the last few months that I can't get over.

No problem, all you simply need do is:

Change the exercises-instead squats- do hack squats etc
and change the reps-instead 4-6 do lighter weight at 12 reps but less sets, at least for 2 months, then you can go back to MAX OT

Dont bother with that. Take two weeks off, re-evaluate your diet, and eat more protein.

If that doesnt work, change up a few of your excersizes. The theory of 'hitting muscles from different angles will get through your plateau!' thing is completely over-rated if you ask me. Nothing that a couple of weeks off wont fix.

Amusingly enough, I've seen people go from 160lbs to 196lbs and not change their protein intake in the slightest. They just forget about it. Make sure you've been upping the amino's!

I agree there...something as simple as changing your grip can bust you through a plateau....
But remember this...the max-ot program has been building your fast twitch muscles for quite some time now, simply taking a break and then going back at it will slow down your growth in the next cycle as well as make you plateau sooner too...
Hit your slow twitch by high reps and let them gain in some strength before turning back to MAX-OT.

Also...an underdeveloped body part could be slowing or stopping your progress so get that up if your not symetrical Ü

In the majority of cases, people under 180 dont plateau at all. Only if they're overtrained or arent eating enough good food. From 180-195, if they arent training, eating and sleeping perfectly, they'll hit the wall and not grow much more. It starts getting damn complicated if and when you hit 200lbs, and I guess new excersizes might be able to help there.

I occasionally have the odd week where I superset and giantset anyway - keeps things fresh. Then I'll take a full week off and get back to a more HIT/Max OT schedule. Plateau's arent usually a problem, just injury and health. I'm prone to a lot of gut problems - which isnt good when you have to go from eating 3500kals one day, to barely stomaching 1700 the next :)

Although on a weird side note, I suggest sometimes changing the grip on your deads from strong hand over, to weak hand over... For some reason I feel it helps make sure both sides of my body are gaining. Maybe thats just a purely mental thing though.

I agree bud.. but that also depends on their body type etc.. and we simply don't have enough info to say...

As for changing your grip on deads...i'm with you all the way...it does make a difference, I actually like to change my grip on every exercise.. like thumb under or over etc Ü
