With chin-ups, straight. ..I can't imagine it's possible to do a chin-up with your hands angled on one of those bars.. that would be very strange and probably cause alsorts of problems with your wrists.

Pull-ups - however you want!

Everyone always interchanges the terms pullups with chin ups even if they know the difference. You should be doing all grips (pronated, supinated, hammer, wide, narrow) to effectively target everything.

The bars that are angled 0utward like that are for wide grip, overhand chin-ups. Doing normal underhand chin-ups should be done on a normal flat bar.

Why the hell do the censor o u t w a r d ?

Haha no I mean in general. I do hammer chins on arm day and wide grip pullups on back day. If the bar was thicker in the center I'd do close supinated grip chins as well. And I still want to do those 1 arm pullups ....

there's a potential for rotator cuff damage anytime you bring something behind the neck (pull up, pull down, military or shoulder press). A quick google search will bring up some of the latest 'wisdom' on the subject.
