How do I set up bands for speed pulls?

I have access to a deadlift platform and red, blue, green and purple bands. But I'm not sure how to set it up in terms of weight on the bar + band tension.

Say I want to do speed pulls at 70% 1RM and my max is 475. Do I set it up so that the weight on the bar plus the band tension at the top is is ~330 lbs? So for example, if each blue band adds 50 lbs at the top, I would do the bar (45 lbs) + 185 lbs in weights + double blue bands? The setup I will use is exactly like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfJ6V-EwZE4

Anyone know about how much tension the different color bands add at the top of a deadlift?

To me it seems kind of screwy, because at different angles the bands will be applying different amounts of tension. The next time you go into the gym, how would you know exactly what tension you had the last time?

Well, that's the point. The farther you pull the bar, the "heavier" it gets. So you have to explode out of the bottom. And for consistency, you can just set the bands up the same way each time.

And to change the resistance, I think once you have bands on there and you have an approximate idea of how much "weight" they add, you can go from there. You can do different percentages of your 1RM, different combinations of weight on the bar and different band tensions.

Say I want to use 70% of 1RM, which is about 330 lbs, and the blue bands add 50 lbs each (I have no idea, just a random number). So like in my first post, I would use the bar + 185 lbs + double blue bands. Or, if the purple bands add 100 lbs each (again, random number) I would use the bar + 85 lbs + double purple bands, etc.

I'm not sure how much tension the different bands add though. I guess I could try standing on a scale and pulling the weight with different bands, but I don't know how accurate that would be.
