Just an observation. I notcied I could do tons of pushups and situps for months and get strong but never really made a visual difference. 4 weeks ago I started doing a lot of pull ups/chin ups.
My abs are now starting to show as well as my chest starting to bulk up. I think its due to the fact that Im doing so many pull ups now. Has anyone noticed this? Im thinking that pull ups and chin ups are better than sit ups.

Your sit up form was probably wrong...

Almost no one does sit-ups correctly anymore...

Plus when your doing Fitness tests specially for J/H and H/S. Speed is more important then form or length....

Your upper body should be like a board and you should just lift it with only your abbs... Shouldn't lung or throw your body up...

And try 3-sec up 3-sec down.... I see people doing tons of messed up speed crunches and saying how strong they are... but when they do real situps and crunches they can only do a handful...

Another fun thing to do is handstand pushups.. .

interesting you say that about JH and HS. I was thinking to myself " but they use to always make us go so fast, maybe they were on to something"

Guess I was wrong and so were they
Thanks for the tip

Pullups are a lot harder than crunches and even pushups. Besides, pullups is a fuller upper body workout using your lats, shoulders, biceps, forarms, abs and I'm sure some other muscles as well. You can do a ton of situps but you won't see abs till you burn some of the fat off of the waist area. If you want to see results, you're going to have to start adding weights. When you did pushups, you only use a certain percentage of your body weight. Sure you can do more the next week or the next day, but you aren't really overloading your muscle. You are merely fatiguing it.

Join a gym, learn to use the freeweights. You'll get plenty of results in a shorter amount of time. Just pushups and situps won't get you very far visually. You need to get into a gym and find a routine that works for you.

I think doing head-stand pushups is much harder then any weights i've done.

Yeah I know what you mean about those headstand push ups. I just cant get my neck to extend lie a giraffe! whats with that?! :p

Handstand pushups are gooooood. It helped a lot with all overhead movements.

Sing it with me:

You cant spot reduce fat to make abs!

If you want an explanation as to why, I'm sure someone here would be willing to shoot you for me.
