Before anyone starts flaming, I already tried searching about my question. I found very little that would help to answer it. With that being said, here is my question:

I recently bought a tub (2.25 lbs, 1020grams) of whey protein. The brand is MXPRO40 by ISS. It's the vanilla flavored. Anyway, the instructions read to mix 3 scoops (68grams) with 12oz of cold water. Here is my problem; Mixing one scoop with 12oz leaves it chunky, there is no way I can take in 3. These chunks are simply discusting to drink. I mix it with cold water like it says, but I don't use a blendor because I don't have one.

Anyone have any tips on an easier way to take this in? I know some people posted about homemade protein bars, which I am thinking about trying.

Get a shaker, they are really cheap, or you can get a water flask with a top on it for like a buck. Simply add the whey and the water and shake like hell. This works for me, but remember to clean it well otherwise it will start to smell!

A tip for you is to use milk instead of water, it really brings out the most of the vanilla taste and it also has some extra protein in it!

I second the mixing of whey and milk. It's amazingly good.

Also, shaker bottles are good... I ordered some stuff from 1fast400.com and got a free one... but ya know, why don't you just go to kmart and get a blender. It'll cost ya like 10 bucks. I swear. It mixes the shyt up like no other.

In addition, you might not wanna go by the "instructions" and go rather by how much protein per scoop, and how many grams of protein you want. For example, post workout you might want 2 scoops for a total of like 45 g's.... but during the day you might just want a shake with one scoop and like 6 oz of milk...

First Things First

First Things First....

1. You Fu**ed Up when you bought the vanilla flavor.

2. You Fu**ed Up when you mixed it with water.

3. You Fu**ed Up when you mixed it with a spoon.

What You Should Have Done....

1. You should have bought the chocalate one.

2. You should have mixed it with milk.

3. You should have stolen a blender & used it.

semag and Lifeforce, thanks for your reply's. I will definetly try a shaker and some milk. It says non-fat milk, does this really matter? As for how many scoops I want, it also says that 3 scoops is 40g of protein. I'd like to take two full shakes on the days I work out and one on my off days.

tipsy_619, lol at your post... thanks for your reply as well. I did fvck up, but this is my first time using this whey protein shyt which is why I asked the questions. As for using a spoon, I didn't. I used the scooper that came with it. Maybe next time I will try chocolate.

who cares
it doesnt matter if you use non fat milk....i usually use 1 oe 2%...and if you cant get a blender get one of those handheld choppers, theyre really cheap, and better than a blender cause theyre so easy to clean and you can mix it in the glass that youre going to drink it in. sometimes with 3 scoops even shaking doesnt get all the little chunks mixed.

I use medium fat, like 1,5 % or something, it really doesn't matter, if you can find it use lactos free or low lactose milk. Remember that if you use milk there will be more protein. I use around half a litre of milk for two scoops, thats 17 g protein extra. 62 g protein in one mix with optimum nutrition whey. :D

yeah... 3 scoops for 40 g's of protein sounds like you may not have gotten the best powder, if they're semi large scoops, that is.

Don't dis that powder till you're done, but when you finish... either go to costco and see if they have the 6 lb jugs for 20 bucks (prorated whey) or go to 1fast400.com and get some optimum. Good deal, 30 bucks for 5 lbs, and it tastes really good. I don't think the vanilla is as bad as tipsy thinks, goes great with vanilla, and throw a banana and some peanut butter in the blender with your milk and protein, and you have a great shake... but then again, I think the chocolate is better, and goes with more things. Just tho'ts.

I don't think I got the best powder either, unfortunately. I will suffer through this jug, then do a search on here for the most popular brand, probably. Optimum I saw at musclemag (the store near where I live), so I might pick some of that up.

As the guys say, use a blender, personally I prefer water.

I am gonna throw in a shameless plug for my own company also www.atlargenutrition.com , check out Nitrean. You can just shake it in a shaker and it will mix up with no lumps, and tastes awesome.

Either way, take the guys advice and use a blender and try milk...
