What part of my diet that im missing out on do you guys think is causing this? or could it just be because of the protein diet.

Unbalanced diets can cause symptoms like this. Consider the South Beach diet.

It means you're not digesting all of the proteins you're taking. When they decompose in your stomach you give off the protein farts.

Decrease your protein consumption by 20%

Gas problem??? Turn it into a gas pleasure! Just make sure to save them up for when you're around your friends and then let them fly! They'll love you for it. :D

you don't need more than 1.5g per kg bodyweight protein. YOu are probably using too much.

From my experience I put on more weight and muscle upping carbs...and a bit less protein...differs from person to person though...if ou are naturally lean...use more carbs

Try switching proteins.

I normally use Designer protein mixed with water and one cup of yogurt. No problems.

My room mate moved and left so Myoplex. I mix it with low fat milk and it's gas city. I mean bad.

I'm gonna switch to mixing it with water and see what happens.

I also heard that peanut butter helps with gas. Never tried it though...

Correction - Peanut butter CONTAINS fat, not peanut butter is fattening. Back in the day when I lost 42 lbs I supplemented with peanut butter. It's a good fat source. I think per serving it had somewhere around 12-14g of fat, but only 1-1.5g were saturated. The rest is polyunsaturated and monounsaturated.

Are you still eating 3 meals a day?

I have the same problem if I knock back a lot of protein at once. If I spread it out over 6-7 meals it is smooth sailing. Carbs seem to be involved too. So long as I get a complex carb with the protein I come out ok. Skipping the carbs or getting carbs from breads or something sugary has smelly results.

Dude STFU if you don't know the facts.

Protein farts are caused by indigestion of protein. It's a fact. It's been proven.

If he decreases it 20%, then he lowers the stress on kidneys and IG system, while having the same protein concentration in the blood.

Now please explain to me how it's bad for him.

as i listed there are certain products to aid in digestion.

also where do you get your "facts" from, i was pretty sure that the study done was inconclusive.

but then again i cold find a study that tells you that more than one can of tuna a day could put your life at risk

also he doesnt need to lower his protein he needs to spread it out over 5-8 meals.

drixsa - what the hell do you want from me?

A graph with protein intake as a control variable and fart volumes as dependent? With the statistical analysis and deviations?

Be realistic. I did a GI course and it's the advice I can give.

BTW: spreading out is also a good option
