For the past month I have been eating & lifting heavy & stocking up on the protein along with protein shakes. Unfortunatly, this past week I have gotten the flu & not worked out since. But I have continued to eat protein.

My question: If I continue eating & taking protein shakes, what affect will this have on me? Will I lose/gain weight?

I don't think you'll get fat after just the week if you're getting back to working out.

Get well soon, er, Bloke :D

Nah dude, don't sweat it at all.

When you're sick, it's not a good idea to keep on working out, but you should still try and keep your caloric intake the same.

The other thing is, all that protien that you eat, when not used, is just thrown away. Unlike fats, carbs, and alcohol, protiens don't have another waste product, so most of them leave as waste.

Get well god.

This is a simple one

Protein Shakes were created for people who exercise and get fit.

Now, was protein shake invented as a food product before the fitness/weight lifting craze came about in the 70s-80s?

Nah, I didn't think so. Use only protein shakes when you exercise/workout/weightlift. And eat real food when you're not.
