I went to get gas after my workout and saw when I was paying these Met-rx Protein Plus bars. I have always heard two different stories about these protein bars but I figured i would ask you guys if they are worth it or not. This is the nutrition facts for the bar:

Serving size: 1 Bar (3 oz---85 g)
Total Calories: 330
Calories from Fat: 80
Total Fat: 9 grams (saturated fat 4.5 g)
Total Carbohydrate: 32 grams (on front of wrapper it says 4 net carbs. What is that?)
Dietary Fiber: 2 grams
Sugars: 10 grams
Protein: 32 grams

Is this particular bar any good or a waste of money. I figured I could just eat one after I worked out. Your thoughts?

whey protein is cheaper, make yourself a shake - skimmed milk, evaporated milk, low fat cottage cheese and wafer thin chicken are awesome sources of cheap protein ;)

Funny,

Eggs, Kefir & tuna are superior sources of protein. And at least you can control that they are pure and not ridden with chemicals. Most of them, including the brand names, are sh*t protein anyway.

IMO, protein bars are a waste of money. I have not seen one that has pure ingredients, just does not package well. Whey & casein, you can make on your own, btw.
