Hey I have prom coming up in a little less then a month. And I have no idea what to wear. I don't know what color to get or anything like that. I'm not going to have a date so I don't have to match really. I have like no idea what to do but I want to look pimp like a top hat, scarf, gloves, cane but I have no idea what style suit/tux to look for or colors. Any suggestions or pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you

I went to prom wearing a sort of Jet Li style tuxedo.

I'm Chinese so it worked very well for me, I got a lot of compliments. My vest was red which matched my date's dress. If you want to get noticed, wearing an all white tuxedo will get some attention. Go with Vest instead of cummerband. You can make your tuxedo more modern by wearing a normal tie instead of bowtie. Looks sharp.

Why don't you have a date? A month away is PLENTY of time to get one. Seriously go out and find one. Prom night...make it your duty to hit that booty!

It's not senior prom it's junior prom and no one really brings dates cause no one does since it's only juniors allowed to attend. I'm still going try and get some hookups in the after party tho that's a definite

Don't wear an all-white tuxedo. Those are for morning events. Also, everyone else who wants to get noticed wears an all-white tuxedo, so you'd end up sartorially wrong AND looking like half the dance.

The place I rented my tux had a bunch of waistcoat colors that no one would wear - a lot of purples and some other bright shades. They were mostly nice colors that unconfident guys could never touch, and that's your cue, dude. Go for it.

My prom tux was awesome. It was black pants, black coat, black shirt, with a gold vest and gold tie. And I was sporting the hat too.

I'd stick to a white wing collar shirt with a black bow-tie, black tux pants, black tux shoes or some black and white wingtips, and a peak lapeled double breasted blazer, if possible with velvet lapel and collar.

This is a timeless classic look by itself but if you really want to draw attention, you could sport a top hat and a cane.

Write that down, take it to your local rental place, try it on and see how you like it.

If you do wanna go with white, make sure you only don't match white pants to your white blazer.

its naff (and satorially incorrect) to match anything to your prom dates corsage or dress.

All white is "interesting", best way of getting noticed, buy proper studs for a dress shirt and wear that, if they get close, they will notice you have style. Ties are just wrong if it is a black tie event.

Go black tie, in a dinner jacket and trousers (with the military silk stripe) and a white silk scarf around your neck.

You could also try the white tie look and go in a morning or evening suit, with tails, especially useful if you try the top hat and cane.
