I'm going to prom with one of my friend's g/f's friends and she goes to another school. I just recently met her in person for the first time, she had a bunch of people over at her house. I didn't talk to her a lot, mainly because she was surrounded by her girlfriends talking about people and stuff from the other school I had no idea about. I don't think I made a very good first impression and I know that is important to do. Is it possible for me to just forget that, get to know her better when she's not surrounded by a ton of people I don't know, and still have a good time at prom? Or do you guys think she will have negative thoughts about me regardless and possibly ditch me for prom?

That choice is yours, but you should sure as hell not assume she'll ditch me before prom. Even if you made a bad impression, you can still make a new one, and a better one. So, let's look at the two possibilities, and your two options:
Scenario One: You made a bad impression, and you worry about it.
HB: Whoa, what a loser. He's still uptight about everything, just like he was the first time. I'm dumping this guy
Result: You=bereft of a date
Scenario Two: You made a good impression/neutral impression and you worry abou it.
HB: WTF? This guy seemed so cool at first, but he's just an uptight AFC. I'm dumping this guy.
Result: You just screwed yourself out of a date.
Scenario Three: You made a bad impression, but you stop wondering about if you f*cked it up, and just keep gaming.
HB: Hey, I guess my first thoughts about this guy were wrong. He's so awesome.
Result: You've just salvaged the situation
Scenario Four: Good/neutral impression, and you don't worry about it.
HB: This guy is really something. I can't wait to go f*ck him
Result: You're a stud, man

The answer is simple: Don't Worry About It.

What I would say is simply carry on as normal... forget that the whole night happened... so what if you didn't say much, quite frankly I don't see that as being enough to give a bad impression (unless you shyed away in the corner with your head in your lap), I know girls like confident men, but not talking much is not ALWAYS an indicator of low confidence... It gives you more of a mysterious quality too... I guess she could want to find out more about you, and hell, then you game her like there's no tomorrow :)

Don't let it bother you...
