private or unknown calls

i was thinking and i dont get it, i usually receive private calls to my cell phone... i awnser normally and expect for the person who called me to say something but she stays quiet until i hang up or she hangs up in a couple of seconds. i say she because girls do this... i dont know why. In the past some girlfriends confess they called me private but they never give me a reason for doing that.
Why do girls do this, do any of you have and idea?

I called a girl about a month ago at her job. I met her once before and I found her number off a business card. I called, talked a little, sensed there was no great interest, no great future. NEXT.

I think she might not have realized I was calling from my cellphone. About a month later I get a call from her work number and she hangs up on my ass. Find out later she is married. Hang ups/missed phone calls are a waste and I wouldn't waste my mental energy on them. If someone wants to talk to you, they will.

In the future .... after they've left a missed call (and if you have a # to call back) then you should just let it sit for a while .... depending on situation ... anywhere from 30 min to a day or 2

also ... dont always answer ... you'll be suprised at how much better of a response you'll get if you make them leave a msg

How old are the people in question? If you're still in high school that kind of childish behavior is acceptable, if you aren't, then it's not...
