well after 4 or 5 months after accutane. my acne has reappered again though not bad as it was before YET. i have decided to go on accutane again but the only side affect was horribly chapped and dry lips and everytime someone saw me they would automatically wet their lips. i started to notice after a while. but is their anything i can do to keep my lips soft and not dry before it starts? like put chapstick every single moment or something.

Were you on accutane?

All I can recommend is keep chapstick with you at all times.

Also try not to lick your lips alot, it's getting them wet and constantly drying that makes them chap and crack.

Blistex has a medicated balm for extremely dry lips and it isn't very glossy. Also Burt's Bees puts out a matte balm as well, many products out there to try.

Vaseline or Vitamin E would be a great night time moisturizer as well but they are shiny. I wouldn't take the Vitamin E as a supplement, ask the Dr. first, but it comes in gel caps and could be punctured and the oil applied directly to your lips.

Chaps stick "seals moisture in" and you are not producing much, so I'd look for brands that moisturize better.

Edit: Call your doctor and ask them to recommend something, if it is a side effect of the drug they should have a resolution for you and could just tell you over the phone or call something in to the pharmacy.
