I'm buidling a solid career studying neurophysiology, but I'll spare you a long argument for why learning social interaction is like motor learning. But suffice it to say, it's probably safe to say you train your mind like you would a muscle. Lots of repetition! Always aim for proper form!
Right now, you're probably socially inept in some respects.
This won't change through reading the great posts in the Bible or making "friends" here on the board.
Does a muscle become stronger by you mastering physiology? No.
Do you become smoother with women without regular practice talking to them? No.
You've realized you have a difficulty. You've come to this site. You've become determined to improve yourself. There's just one more painful hurdle.
You have to challenge your social anxiety by putting your feet to the fire.
I know of no other way -- no inside game -- to conquer social anxiety.
This will creep in a little bit, but not hit home. That's a shame.
But if it does, you'll start an actual journey of self-improvement with measurable results.
It's just like your muscles, man. Habit makes the man.
And for God's sake, work out if you're not already. A better physique will move mountains.
I'm ending my sojourn here. I won't check for replies and I'm a man of my word, so you can skip the pithy rejoinders. It's over when I hit 'Submit New Thread'.
You guys are genuinely inspiring. I wish you well.
Take care.
