How much do they help if you excercise daily i.e. running, basketball, crunches, some dumbbell lifts for biceps with each arm.

Does the protein from the bars help that much?

How much (or percentage needed per day) protein do humans usually consume each day?

Read the bulking guide.

About 1.5g per lb of body weight is a good median.

Read the bulking guide.

Most protein bars don't have that much protein in them.

Read the bulking guide.

Running, crunches, and bi db curls ain't gonna make you big.

Powerbars are really for endurance sports like running or cycling. Like Cheiradawg said, read Diesel's Bulking Guide to learn about adding mass.

i wouldnt waste your money. if you want a real protein bar buy one, but powerbars arent going to make any difference when it comes to muscle growth. eat a lot of food, and toss in a bar/shake when you need it. powerbars have like 8 or 9, maybe 10, g of protein per bar, thats nothing.

Mustang05,

I usually carry around a protein bar with me as an "emergency" food if I'm unable to consume a meal every 3 hours. I'm on the skinnyguy program, too.

powerbars are usually used as meal replacement. Typically lunch or breakfast. although there are better protein bars, powerbars still work. Only for meal replacement though.

Ok powerbars are not used as meal replacement but as snacks. Also you have to consume them between 30 or 45 mnutes either before or after workout. In my experience they do give me a boost but you have to drink tons of water. for your own sake drink tons of water.... and the Protein Plus powerbars have up to 26-28 grams of protein. For a snack that is not bad. Having them handy when the temptation kicks in between something healthy and something unhealthy is also good.
