I have been trying affirmations and positive thinking for the past few days now and have been experiencing good things - not just in life... but in lifting too!

I think the reason I haven't been making as good progress, as I could have, is down to the fact that I just had a negative attitude when going to the gym. My lifts had been stagnating for so long that I just went to the gym for the sake of going and keeping what muscle I had gained.

I also just thought that the weight I was lifting in any given exercise is what I'll be stuck on til something happens which is beyond my control... but not so!

Over the past few days I've noticed that with my new attitude and affirmations (I am STRONG and POWERFUL... I am full of ENERGY) I have increased the reps on about 95% of all my sets so far!

Granted, some of the increases have just been one or two reps extra but today I added another 2.5kg on my Incline Bench Press and repped 7, 6 & 4 compared to last week's lift on the same exercise minus 2.5kg with 7, 6, 5.

So, to sum it up, try positive thinking and REALLY believe what you are saying and feel that new-found energy surging through your body!

Happy lifting!

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.
