Master Don Juan
This is the first story out of Ferguson that really pisses me off. The police won't protect anybody, fine, that should be expected. But now they are accusing volunteer security guards of being "domestic terrorists" and demanding that they stop guarding buildings from arsonists and looters.
So the police won't do their job, and now are threatening to arrest the volunteers who have come to do that job for them. They're ignoring the crime of rioting, and instead focusing on the crime of preventing a riot. This is madness.

...after media inquiries, St. Louis County police officers ordered the Oath Keepers to leave the rooftops.
Threatened with arrest for operating without a license, the volunteers argued but eventually left their positions early Saturday, Rhodes said.

So while the New Chinese Gourmet restaurant at the end of a block of South Florissant Road appears to have little in the way of defense beyond the painted wooden boards that cover its windows, armed men and women on recent nights have roamed the rooftop it shares with a dental practice and a law office.
“When they’re here, there’s definitely a weight lifted off of our shoulders,” said Davis Vo, whose family owns New Chinese Gourmet. “I’d be lying if I said otherwise.”
