Whey protein doesnt come cheap, and it's easy to finish a can within a month or less time frame.

since i just bought a new can, im asking if its worthwile to even drink protein shakes on days that i dont workout. is it beneficial to my healing muscles? or barely?

or is protein from my day's meals & milk enough for me on non workout days.

You need to drink protein everyday, even when you're not working out cause those are the days your muscles are recovering and using up the protein in your body the most. Buy pro-rated 100% whey protein 6lbs at cosco for $20 and then get yourself some creatine and mix it into your shakes and you get some of the best protein powder money can buy :D

3 times a day at 6lbs, that's 30 days worth of protein. You can't go wrong with that; also drink fat free milk as this contains 9g of protein per cup.

2 cups of fat free milk and 1 scoop of whey protein is what I suggest you take per shake. 3 times daily, then get the rest protein from food.

If you're that tight, forget it and stay skinny, put the money towards a pension or something.

without enough protein you will not achieve your muscle building potential. aim for 200+ a day at the very minimum.

on workout days, take whey straight after lifting. that's a must

on your off-days, if you want to spare your whey, by all means do so as fast absorption is not essential. just make sure you're still getting enough protein on the off-days as your body will still be building muscle

sorry after workout i am maybe a bit to testosteronized. now after 60g whey 60g chicken protein and 200carbs++ i feel indeed a bit more relaxed. i know i didnt give any arguments, and i dont want to. i know these researches and i know that for people with better genetics it works with lower amounts of protein, but not for me and many other skinny guys. i may not need the 300-400g i am consuming but at least 200g.....and it is better to get too much protein than to get too much carbs or too much fat. another fact is that whey isn'T THAT expensive as you guys make it up. it tastes good and is pretty cheap, dont know if you all have to buy your own food, but other stuff can be more expensive than whey.

and i read enough work out journals and informations about pro bodybuilder to know that the guys with great success often eat very big amounts of protein. it's the bodybuilders best friend.POINT
