I've played soccer over the course of the summer and it came to a halt early this fall. My soccer crew are getting back into playing soccer weekly again and i woudl love to join them.

but here's the problem i'm underweight and started getting back on track with my workout program to gain mass.

Many of you say that someone that's tryin to gain shouldnt even be doing cardio, since it burns calories which i have none to spare. Well soccer is a form of cardio. Would playing soccer in addition to my workout program hinder my progress??
Afterall my muscles are always healing every week due to working out.

Yes, just eat more dirty. When I am playing sports, I stop eating so clean and I can usually maintain muscle mass better. It's a fine line to tread, though. It's easy to lose your discipline and get a few pounds of fat. So keep at it.

you dont have to eat dirtier, just eat more and make sure you're getting a lot of rest

muscle mass is great, but health is important too. in the long run thats what you'll be happy you maintained

i play soccer too. I'm on anthony's program and in the book it says playing a sport on the side isnt a big deal but preferably put your workouts on days other than your soccer training.

SO

i go to the gym monday, wednesday, and friday.

Practice on tuesday and thursday

Also eat right after you're done with the practice.

You WILL grow if you eat enough! It's WHAT you eat that sends the message to body which tissue it should focus on building. You eat a lot of protein, the body will give the order to make muscle (provided you have stimulated it correct and given it enough time to rest). Get in plenty of carbs to have energy for your workouts, and keep carbs low in the evening to avoid fat gain during sleep. Do NOT hold back carbs post-workout if you work out in the evening, though. Keep fat at medium throughout the day, and DO remember that olive oil and flaxseed oil is your friend. I'd also recommend a multi vitamin, zinc, magnesium, calcium and vitamin C.

Have fun!
